Get lifetime key of MBAM Pro for $15 (50% off) before it goes yearly sub

Yeah I’m running NOD32 + MBAM now.

How many anti stuff do you have at one time, rei? Or you have just nod32 and mbam?

Just nod and mbam. I used to run mse and mbam.

Honestly, I don’t use it as a real-time scanner…but I use firefox (pale moon), noscript and am willing to screw around with temporary permissions.

(Also, they’re idiots, sadly. They’re trying to charge $500 per year and demanding you do it via a clumsy USB stick method for computer techs. Yes, that’s the only “permitted” way of scanning someone else’s PC if you’re a business…)

MBAM catches a lot of crap that the less reputable streaming porn sites throw at your computer.

What about the more reputable ones? :P

Crap-throwing is a bit of a fringe fetish.

Thanks to rei for the heads up!

If you’re getting hit with sales tax (I live in CA) when ordering direct, TigerDirect.com is selling retail box copies for $13 each. They charge shipping, but it comes out cheaper if you order 3 or more copies. Shipping was $4.44 for me. Also, if you have a Discover card, you can get 5% cashback if you click through the Discover site.

Question:

This program is a Spybot, Adware finder and should be run along with an Antivirus?

I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials (used to use NOD32 but when I was out of work several years ago had to move to something free).

I run the pro version as my only protection (e.g. also as anti-virus.) Works very well for me and my wife (who is more prone to virus and malware infections than I am.)

MBAM isn’t antivirus though. They explain this:

That being said, there are many infections that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does not detect or remove which any antivirus software will, such as file infectors. It is important to note that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware works well and should run alongside antivirus software without conflicts.

I’ve been running MSE realtime with occasional MBAM sweeps for a few years now, and they’ve both saved my bacon a few times (maybe 3 or 4 times over the past few years).

It’s quite funny though, I mean, the need you have for MBAM probably is directly proportional to the amount of porn you browse :)

I read something recently that claimed the major porn sites are actually fairly robust, and if you want to go looking for nasty malware, your local churches’ websites are a better option. Apparently they make ideal targets: often set up as a one-off by a volunteer from the congregation, rarely updated, and visited mainly by older folks who aren’t all that diligent about security.

Shouldn’t Microsoft Security Essentials PLUS Malwarebytes activescan be enough virus protection for everyone? I don’t ever want to have to go back to Kaspesky, Mcafee, or Symantec AV. Hate those bloated piles of crap

I sure hope so, jpinard. I have the same set up.

Should be enough for most people. There’s always a chance something will get through via ads or whatever, but those along with responsible browsing habits should be just fine.

I am a moron. I didn’t realize the offer was on a special page (linked in the OP). I just went to the site, saw the normal price in the store, thought the sale was over, and bought three licenses anyway.

Oh well. At least I got a volume price of $21 per license.

…buy more to average the price out?

Good plan, but the volume discount stops there. :)

yeah, but i bought 3 keys twice to get 6.
