Give Unto Caesar

I’ve no objection to paying taxes, and I try to vote in at least the major elections, though I admit to being underinformed about (and generally uninterested in) local political issues. I’ve never been called for jury duty, but even if I was I tend to doubt that I’d make it onto an actual jury, given that I don’t believe in god and am opposed to the death penalty and punishing people for what I perceive as victimless crimes, like Euri.

I’ve only been called for jury duty once and served on a misdemeanor battery case. I would never lie to the court but I wouldn’t go out of my way to volunteer my beliefs on nonviolent crime since I feel that being selected and using jury nullification to check judicial/legislative stupidity is my duty as a citizen.

The federal government actually does give about as detailed a report as makes sense for the overall budget, see here. You probably want Historical Tables, Budget of the United States Government, Fiscal Year 2009.
