Giveaway thread!

I want giveaways to go to people that will play and post about the game only because there’s not enough discussion about interesting games on this forum.

Obviously there’s no way to control for that but I hope people make a good effort at it and the codes aren’t wasted on collectors or people that want digital copies of games they already own. I don’t think there needs to be a rule, I just want more game talk around here!

My fear with putting high, stringent post minimums to send out a key is that I would have even more games unclaimed than I already do. And also, most of the minimums would probably cause me to exclude myself.

Would be fun to have a “soft” rule where the person that receives the game has to post his thoughts on the first few hours of it within a week or two in the appropriate thread (or create a thread, if needed).

Before the giveaway, just get people to write a 1000 word essay on why they should be the beneficiary of a free game and how it will in turn benefit the QT3 community moving forwards.

That should sort the wheat from the chaff.

I agree! And said essay should be submitted to the Tribunal of Cats for evaluation of worthiness.

Could it be that people that take codes listed directly in a thread are selling the code (not talking about people who are a part of QT3 whether they post frequently or not). That would be the main reason for me to PM the code to the requestor rather than listing it.

Unlikely, because more than one person tries a directly listed code if there’s no post saying it’s been ‘taken’. You’d have to be pretty quick to sell it, and then have the buyer successfully use it.
