Finally got around to playing this game and just finished it. Even though I saw it at e3 in 04 it didn’t grab me. But based on the praise here on the old boards I bought it and tried it - great game. A bit dark for my usual tastes but loved it nonetheless. The areas looked great and though I thought the overall plot was a bit weak it was just a damn fun game.
Trying to decide if I want to attempt it on God Mode or not. I didn’t find any of the fights particularly hard to begin with. I did find all those vine jumping “puzzles” really annoying. Not too bad since there were only two of them.
God mode is a bitch to go thru. It took me 3 days of playing just to beat aries part 2 on it. They really cut your health down in it, as a few hits is all it takes to kill you. I think Devil May Cry 3 handled the difficulty better imo, it was hard as hell, but once you find the pattern in the boss fights it becomes doable.
Now I need to hear if someone beat Ninja Gaiden Black on the third hardest difficutly level. Which completely destroyed me.
Its at that pink demon lady thing. Always has been trouble for me. Its not hard mode, I remembered they added ninja dog, its the one below master ninja diff. Also the silver whip lady in the ninja tournmant is also annoying. I did find an incredibly easy way to kill doku part 1. Too bad I forget most of my skills from not playing for a long time.
Based on one of the unlockable bonus movies, I think it’s fairer to say we’ll be seeing a prequel. Something involving the brother of Kratos. That’s all I can remember. But yeah, Sony’s not going to let one of their best 1st party titles ever slide without delivering another game on their next system.
I saw that movie and it sounded more like a sequal. Listen to the last track of the music CD. Kratos says something like “now I am a god I will try and find my brother”.
