Good gaming/school laptop for <$1000

That’s pretty tempting. I don’t really need a new laptop at the moment, but it’d be nice to have a back-up for my aging desktop before I need it.

I’m irrationally well-disposed toward HP, based on a G60 laptop that’s been tanking along issue-free for almost nine years now. I power it up every six months or so, and sure, it takes an hour or more for Windows 7 to check for updates and get its shit together, and it gets super hot, and the return key fell off in 2005. But damn if the thing doesn’t keep running.

LOL - well, they do make good stuff more often than not. But yeah; I’ve been in the market for something not insanely pricey and this seems to do it.

Yep. Worth the journey if there’s one anywhere near, but otherwise it will eventually hit Newegg & Amazon
