GoG is still around? I thought they closed down.

Not all of us are in the Hivemind concerning PS:T. I fired this one back up a week ago, and I just can’t get enthused going past the Dead Nations. Too much of PS:T feels like D&D busywork between conversation trees.

Meh on Deadly Games - nice thought and all but I would have much rather just had a choice of one of the strategy first games.

Nice price tho :)

It’s a gift, so I’m not complaining, but I doubt I’ll ever download it let alone play it. Just not interested. Still, I’m wrapping up play soon on GK3 and then I’ll settle into playing a bit of Arcanum and/or Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon (other GoG games) while continuing with the modern Civ5 (and getting PQ2 off Steam).

Boy, that hoax sure did work out for them.

Welp, Age of Wonders 2 has finally been released, with wallpapers and a soundtrack. Age of Wonders also got a soundtrack. hopefully Shadow Magic won’t be far behind.

Any reason why I should buy this on GOG instead of Steam? Does the original (or Steam version) not run in vista or 7 (64)?

I’m buying them on GoG for the lack of DRM and the goodies, honestly.

They’re also on Impulse, DRM-free and with the soundtracks (if you buy the bundle), if anybody’s really impatient.

Steam has 'em with the soundtracks as well, but I’ve been patient. :)

The soundtrack is in the normal game files, i remember to play them in Winamp…

Wait for AoW2: Shadowmagic - skip Age of Wonders 2

This weekend’s sale is all of the Anuman Interactive games at a discount. I finally snagged the only game I really wanted on that list, Haegemonia.

How about those two Siberia games, any reason not to add them to my expanding GOG backlog? I read a lot of good reviews of the Siberia game, back in the day, so, mostly wondering if Siberia 2 is also worth picking up (I can tell the story is… continued… and I am a sucker for a good story!).

Syberia (with a Y) is one of my favorite Adventure games ever, so I’m totally on the side of picking it up. Syberia 2 isn’t as great as the first, but I think its definitely worth playing if you enjoyed the first at all. The Syberia games are always in my recommended list just for their unique characters, setting, and story.

I bought a starforced copy of the two games together back in the day, and I loved the first one. Very atmospheric, lonely, personal game with a couple of great characters and easy logical puzzles. But by the time I was done with the first game, it had such a great ending that I just couldn’t find the motivation to play the second game. The character arcs had been resolved, and the game was over. Continuing it where Syberia 2 continues it just felt uninteresting to me.

I wonder when we are going to see BG2. Don’t be cruel GOG!

Ah excellent, it comes with Solon Heritage too. I missed buying the only copy of that in the store years ago and was a bit miffed. I loved Haegemonia, not sure how it holds up these days but I distinctly recall it had the best space station explosions in the history of space station explosions! I didn’t care if I needed to redirect my fleet that was under attack, if a space station was exploding I had to zoom in and witness it in all its screen-shaking glory.

What about Amerzone? Would people recommend that to someone who really enjoyed Syberia? I notice it’s by the same guy, Benoît Sokal. Worth it? Or is it a pale shadow of Syberia, or something along those lines? :)
