Will it be $6.99 or $9.99?

Where did you find this? I just tried GoG, Witcher.com and Witcher’s facebook page, and I couldn’t find any mention of a pre-order or all the other things you mentioned.

Interesting - I googled it, came up with a link to gog.com, and then promptly got a 404 error when attempting to follow it. I think they’re rephrasing.

They just pulled back the (presumably premature) announcement; Maybe they’ll put it back after the CDP conference in a few hours.

Oh those wacky bumblers at GOG! Maybe they’ll give CDP execs a free copy of Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games.

Don’t worry - you won’t ever have a hard time finding retail copies of Witcher 2. From what I understand, we’ll be in MORE stores than with the original. Woo!

And I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

The Witcher 2 website has a big ol’ graphical link to GoG that doesn’t work. Wheeeee.

GOG posted this link on their twitter account

http://gog.com/tw2

Cool, it works now.

Can I admit to being confused about something though? The Witcher 2 might be good…but it’s not old in any sense of the word.

From the preorder FAQ:

[ol]
[li] Does this release mean GOG will introduce full price, new games? No. We’re still devoted to bringing you classic games with no DRM at incredible prices. This is a one time special offer to promote the great RPG by our sister company CD Projekt RED, the developer behind The Witcher franchise.[/li][/ol]

The folks at GOG are the same folks who do the Witcher series of games.

2 out of 3 ain’t bad.

Boom! Just like that. Preordered.

Yeah, I knew the CD Projekt guys owned 'em, I was just confused, but I’m glad they’re keeping their focus. :) Thanks! :)

“Gamers in the EU and the UK are generally charged more for the games that they buy than gamers in the US. Even if they’re charged the same number in euros or pounds sterling, since the exchange rate favors them over the US dollar gamers in those regions are still paying more. That’s not fair, and GOG.com believes that charging the same price worldwide for all customers makes more sense. Unfortunately, we can’t just lower our prices on the preorder to be lower than everyone else in those countries, due to legal reasons. So instead, we’ve come up with a solution that lets us charge a fair price to everyone while avoiding giving the legal team here at GOG a heart attack. Read on below for details!”

CDP is the best. The best!

The bad aftertaste after yet another GFWL disaster is smoothed over now…

Damn. I already own all of the bonus games except for RoA 2 & 3, which I’m just not interested in.

From the FAQ:

What if I already own all the available free titles?
For those users who preorder The Witcher 2 on GOG.com and have already purchased all of our announced free titles from the GOG.com store before The Witcher 2 is available, we’ll have an alternative gift.

EDIT: Probably won’t apply to you though as you just don’t want one of the offers.

The link to the list of free games you can choose from doesn’t work for me in IE or Firefox. Can anyone list the free games? From Dan_Theman’s post, I assume two of the releases you can choose from are RoA 2 & 3. Does anyone know what that stands for?

Edit: Nevermind, it worked now when I went to the same page from the GoG frontpage. Here’s the relevant bit:

You can choose from any of these five classic games: Gothic 2 Gold, Realms of Arkania 1 + 2, Realms of Arkania 3, Divine Divinity, and Beyond Divinity. Gamers who have already purchased all of these titles from GOG.com’s library will be offered an alternative title instead.

I’ve never heard of Realms of Arkania, and I already own Gothic 2 Gold, so I’ll probably pick Divine Divinity.

Choose from:
Beyond Divinity or Divine Divinity or Gothic 2 Gold Edition or Realms of Arkania 1+2 or Realms of Arkania 3

works for me in firefox

I will get RoE 3.

Beyond Divinity, Divine Divinity, Gothic 2 Gold Edition, Realms of Arkania 1+2 or Realms of Arkania 3.
