I played Divine Divinity up to the boring desert. I don’t have any of the others. If I jump on this preorder, which of them is best and why?

Gothic 2.

It’s a good RPG and the Gold Edition smoothed out most of the bugs.

Gothic 2 is indeed the best, plus its gold edition so it’s with super atmospheric expansion Night of the Raven.

I like GOG’s style.

I like the cut of their jib.

Preordered!

I love GOG…really… I mean…REALLY love what GOG does - Mr Ohle, please bring my best wishes towards anyone else in the team for the outstanding service and attention to detail you guys bring to the digital distribution scene for things like the below

Since the EU price is almost $16 more than the price in USD, we’re giving our EU customers a $16 credit to purchase anything on GOG.com.

All hail the king, baby!

I hope GOG will eventually sell the original Witcher. I have a disc copy (still waiting to be played, sigh) but I’d love a digital copy because I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even want to hassle with discs at all, not even just to install a game.

Jesus, dude. Who’s this lazy? Did you know the last patch for The Witcher removed any sort of disc check?

But I approve of you buying it again, just to keep money flowing to these guys.

I kind of wish they’d charge me a $5 pre-order fee now, and let me DL Gothic 2, instead of waiting until Witcher 2 launches. It’s not like I’m going to want to fire up G2 right at the same time Witcher 2 becomes available. Still a good deal. At least I’ll have 2 decent RPGs to look forward to in March.

Yeah, but you still have to find the enhanced edition stuff if you didn’t buy that version (which I didn’t). So I’d jump on it too.

As for the sequel, sold. I guess I’ll be trying out Beyond Divinity too…

I really need to finish the original Witcher title.

I am just finishing the last book, Lady of the Lake…so my second playthrough of EEd Witcher will happen over Christmas.

Yes. You do.

I actually have The Witcher, but my PC is nearly six years old, so I’m not sure if it’ll run properly.

It’s worth a shot. Loading times were decreased dramatically. Also, on Easy/Normal there’s not much of a reason to go into every house (loading screen every time) in order to rummage through barrels just to get food or the occasional book or gold ring. Hell it’s not even necessary in Hard since food does all of jack and shit to heal you up.

And with the way you can mark destinations on your map, places like the Swamp don’t need full view distance and details. Although it’ll be sad to not be able to see that area during dawn or dusk with full details. The game still holds up very nicely graphically.

Huh, alright, I’ll give it a whirl then. Why not?

Premium edition available on Steam as well for the same price. I might get it on Steam just to keep all my games in one spot.

Yeah, I happen to have already bought all of the RPGs they’re giving away with the preorder, so I may end up going with Steam as well.

Maybe.

For those in the EU and UK, they are apparently offering GOG store credit for the difference between the “worldwide pricing” (aka US pricing) and the EU and/or UK pricing.

It might be worthwhile to check to see if they will offer the same deal for other territories.

As for the gift game, they do say there will be a separate gift if you’ve already bought all of them. Not sure it’ll be entirely worth it.
