GoG has Caesar III but none of the Impressions city builders after that. Are they licensed / published differently? I’d really like to get a copy of Zeus as that was my personal favorite of the City Builder series. Anyone hear anything about that possibility? Zeus does not seem to be available for download onload anywhere in the US although “Master of Olympus” is available through UK sites. I believe it’s the same game but not sure if its the same version: I recall that the US version had a nice patch (“enhancement pack”) that added a scenario editor which I had a lot of fun with.

I know, right? I would TOTALLY double dip on Zeus and Emperor if they released 'em. Zeus is my all-time fave too.

Oh, and no one cares about their new release, Alien Shooter? ;)

i love isometric shoot em ups so i’ll probably grab this at some point

So is this Alien Shooter like a hella low-rent Eurotrash version of Crusader?

Looks like it.

It totally does, which is why I want it.

It’s an arena shooter within the context of moving through a level. The pictures don’t convey it very well, but you shoot hordes of enemies with increasingly elaborate weapons.

Weekend deals:

The Journeyman Project 2 - $3
The Longest Journey - $5
Sanitarium - $5
Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive - $5

Wow, thankfully I’m interested in none of those.

Well, the weapons aren’t that increasingly elaborate. Basically, they add damage and sometimes AoE effects (with some rate of fire tradeoff, and the ultimate weapon really is the ultimatiest).

There is a very light character development system bolted on top of this. Levels do have secrets, though the levels and secrets are not as elaborate as Crusader’s. It’s worth 6 bucks IMO.

Alien Shooter is fun, if a little anachronistic. It gets its mileage from throwing squillions of enemies at you, enough that you’re often fleeing from rooms while you shoot. It paints the rooms with gore. The sequel has a much better engine but gameplay is similar.

Aw, Journeyman Project 2 was great. Or at least it was in 1995. Maybe I shouldn’t play it again.

Yeah, I recall loving it, but I also remember it being one of those games where you could easily take a wrong turn and die horribly.

Is it wrong if I own 6 of the top 10 bestsellers on the GOG.com front page and have wishlisted two more of them??? :-)

“I like it cheap and unprotected.” How’s that for a corporate slogan ? :D

From Q&A on their youtube channel : ).

GOG one-day special: Red Baron Pack 75% off ($2.50)

I’m way ahead of you. ;)

Wow, lots of stuff happening today!

Two new releases: Broken Sword 1: Directors Cut and Dream Pinball 3D

More promo: Broken Sword series 60% off (or 30% off for individual titles)

Is the Broken Sword series any good? Has anyone here played it and can tell us more about it?

“any good”

pfffff : )

They are some of the best games of their genre ever made. But you have to like the genre of point and click adventure games.

Personally I just bought them, 7 bucks is great deal.

I like the Broken Sword series allot. Pretty classic point and click adventures with an interesting story, although at the time the Illuminati weren’t so played out are they are now. Doesn’t add nothing new to genre but I feel that it was well execute, the story the presentation and the puzzles. If you don’t like point an click adventures this probably won’t change your mind.
