INCUBATION!!! That will work in Windows 7! Plus all this other stuff!
And the only way to get the Wilderness Missions in the US before was to win a massive bidding war or to download from a French fansite.
That is awesome. I loved that Incubation let you see through the aliens’ eyes when they were shooting at your guys. I wish that had been picked up by subsequent games.

Every time it comes up, I wonder why they did not make a sequel. I mean, they made 3 Battle Isle games!!! I am trying to remember how I got the Wilderness mission CD originally. I am not at home, but I may have picked it up in a package deal with it and the original included. It could almost compete with X-com as my favorite TBS tactical game. It is certainly close.
OMG INCUBATION! And awesome Battle Isle games as well! Sold!
Incubation was incredibly awesome game. I still remember its atmosphere vividly.
I did however buy it year ago on ebay for a pretty large sum of money, to make up for my childhood sins.
Ah what the hell, at least now a proper company will get my money. Sold.

Holy shit, I’ve waited for this. Loved the Battle Isle series as a kid and Incubation was just awesome.
I picked up Conquest of the Underworld (retail box) years ago when I’d played through all my HOMM games (1-3) and many of the user created content for HOMM3 and was still hungry for more.
As the wikipedia article mentions, the standalones were basically HOMM3 scenarios playable on their own, and the difficulty was considerably less than the general campaign of HOMM3 or it’s expansions. Underworld (the only one I played) was well put together and entertaining, certainly a professional effort and well worth the $10 I probably paid for it out of the bargain bin. That said, they are one-and-done titles, there is little to no replayability in them once the story has run it’s course. I’d equate them to good user-created content rather than expansions to the original game (they’re too short and limited to be considered expansions).
You can still find them all on Ebay, but it’ll cost you a small fortune as folks seem to think they’re worth a laughable $30 a pop (none of them are worth that much, even brand new). Hell, I think they only sold for $19.99 each when they first came out in 2000.

I’ve never played the Battle Isle series, but Incubation is certainly worth it. Is Battle Isle too grognardy to pick up now?
IIRC, it’s not that grognardy at all. :)
One of many good things about Incubation is the Garrett-style voiceover before missions from the main dude (don’t remember his name).
Incubation at last. I was so waiting for it. Had a hell of a good time with it.
All the enthusiasm makes me wonder how I have not heard of this series. My interest is piqued.
Justin, the Battle Isle series slowly died many years ago, but it’s really a fun series of strategy games. Incubation is an X-Com style tactical game that takes place in the same universe, and is one of the best games of its kind. They never hit it big here in the US though, IIRC.
Some folks say Incubation is puzzley, and it kind of is, but it’s also really tense and exciting.
Actually, you know what it’s like? It’s like Space Hulk. I didn’t know what Space Hulk was when I played Incubation, but now I see that it’s puzzley and tense the same way Space Hulk is.
My antivirus program gives a warning when I install Incubation. Hmmm, false alarm or not?

I’d go so far to say that Incubation is a puzzle game whose elements look like space marines and aliens. It definitely is just a puzzle game.
And it also has nothing to do with the XCom license or universe, as stated by the above poster.
That said, the Battle Isle games are absolutely fantastic. They play like Advance Wars but slightly more complex. I loved every one of them. That package is a great deal.

I believe he was referring to the BattleIsle universe.
This is a really amazing value package.
Looks like GoG didn’t deal with a copy-protection issue (that requires an .EXE hex-edit to fix) that renders BI2 useless. :( Maybe I’ll get a free game from this purchase like I did with MotoRacer2.
