Oh, I want to say another complaint about M&M VIII when it was released is that it was smaller than VI and VII, in terms of “# of regions and places to visit in them”. That is partly a matter of taste, but it was a frequent complaint if memory serves.

I wonder if the “re-treadness” would be a bother now to anyone it was back then. It came out pretty soon after VII, so that was a lot of M&M VI style gaming in a pretty short period IIRC. It was also the next to last game of it’s particular sub genre and the third to last party based 1st person CRPG from a major studio. That’s kind of sad.

I saw someone posting links to PCGamer scans yesterday and realized that GOG’s forums have no “report” function.

I’m not sure who you intend that for.

Why are you bringing this up here? Go email GOG about it.

What the fuck are you talking about?

An interesting, not to mention confusing amount of hostility over a short comment related to the company that is the subject of the thread. They don’t have a huge staff, and so I merely found it an odd omission on their part, particularly as they would not wish to facilitate copyright infringement given their business model as well as the need to convince other companies to list games there. In the future, I will try to restrict myself to telling Tom Ohle what games I want them to get and complaining about a year-old publicity stunt.

I don’t know what everyone’s going on about. This thread is about GoG and he commented a problem that occurred on the site. Big deal.

Sharks go into a frenzy when they smell blood.

Cross forum commentary is one thing, but he brought up a problem on the GoG forums as if to say “I need something done about this”, lamenting that there was no “report” button there. I pointed out this was the wrong place to go about resolving the issue. I don’t think anybody has made a particularly big deal out of it. I’m not sure why this even needs explaining.

Here is the best way to resolve the issue, in order of “most” to “least” effective:

  1. Email someone at GoG (their staff size is irrelevant, incidentally, outside of the fact that the smaller their staff is, the less likely they are to be aware of the problem. It doesn’t make them any less impossible to email.)
  2. Post in the GoG general forum about it.

  1. Post on another forum about it.

As to the rest of your post, the internet is a vast and terrible place. If you consider the 3 reactions to your post here “hostile” (two of which were not hostile, even though one used a “dirty word”), you might reconsider whether it’s for you.

Of course Tom Ohle does post around here every once in a while so maybe the effectiveness number of posting here could be bumped up to 249, or something :)

So…anyone gonna snag Rayman Forever? I remember enjoying the demo of it way back when (though I LOVED Rayman 2), and am tempted to snag it for its soundtrack.

I was not seeking resolution here. My only abuse here is to have attempted conversation.

To the extent that there may be any sincerity in your advice, I suppose I should ignore the condescension and thank you for the concern. I don’t think the internet is a “vast and terrible place,” however. It’s just people communicating with other people, and in so doing, choosing how they treat others. In spite of what people are generally like, I try to remain hopeful that each person I encounter is kind and respectful toward others, at least until they prove themselves otherwise. So I don’t think I will be abandoning use of the internet.

Hoboy. We’ve got a live one here.

Wow guys, can we please try to keep it positive up in here?

Ya’ll gon’ make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here
Ya’ll gon’ make me go all out, up in here, up in here.

Has anybody else noticed the Bestsellers list on the front page has not changed in a few weeks? Wondering how often it is updated

Maybe it’s broken.

Maybe they’re evil and lie!!! Devils! Godless heathens!

Yeah and there’s no link to report it unbelievable
