I’ve dabbled with it a bit, and the gameplay seems fairly solid. The best and worst thing I can say about it is that playing the game put me in the mood for others of its ilk. That makes me think it was a great foundation game in the genre, but others have sinced passed it by. On the other hand, I didn’t play it for very long so my impression may not be spot on.

The Ishar compilation looks kind of intriguing too. I hadn’t heard of them before, and the screenshots look kind of Might & Magic-y, which is a big plus for me. I’m always up for battling the Darkness force.

Anyone played these?

They’re on the older end of old-school, and they have that psuedo-real time EotB interface so popular in 1st-person early-90s RPGs. I guess that’s the easiest way to describe them – Euro EotB clones.

Homeworld and its sequels was up on Gametap for a while a couple of years ago, but I don’t know what’s up with it now. I thought I had heard that Relic bought back the IP rights, but who knows.

Also, this thread will almost certainly make me reinstall Disciples 2 this weekend. I’ve never made it much farther than the second map on the first campaign. And there’s like 6 campaigns.

EDIT: Before I do this to people again, Empire of Magic was truly awful. Brian, if you did go ahead with the purchase, I will pay you back.
