System Shock may not be the best example. Its control scheme is completely out of left field compared to the WASD setup most people expect for a first person game today.

Some of the very old games on that list (Populous) would play perfectly fine today.

In System Shock 1 it’s really only the UI that hasn’t aged well. And the graphics of course, but that doesn’t count.
