Crusader: No Remorse and SMAC are up…but no Alien Crossfire expansion, apparently. I don’t know if it’s EA that’s holding back on the expansions or what; typically GoG games have included them, but they’re missing from Privateer and Dungeon Keeper, too.
Huh, I wonder what the issue with expansion packs is. First no Righteous Fire, now no Alien Crossfire.

I was expecting Alpha Centauri to be $10. Happy to find that it’s $6. Less happy that there’s no expansion but I still bought it immediately.
I dunno…doesn’t feel right buying AC without the expansion, dunno why. I did get Crusader: No Remorse though. :)
Crusader is mine! bwhahahahahaha
Yeah I wonder also, I didn’t buy Space Rangers 2 from them either because it wasn’t the Reboot version with the expansion.

I love the voiceovers in SMAC. Whoever thought out the content being said much be some kind of nobel prizewinner as well. At least, thats how I remember it came across when I played it at launch. Awesome stuff, especially Morgan Freemans ones.
Oh yeah, right, and they also didn’t include 'em with Spellforce 2 either. I guess there are separate licensing issues for expansions? I mostly noticed the issue because of these EA games…
The extras have been kind of lacking on these EA releases, too. Ultima Underworld got a good set of the full lore documents, but the rest of them have been pretty much just the manual. No soundtracks or wallpapers or such.
Edit: Ah, GOG has an official statement on the extras:
We are still working on the free extras for those games. We have some in line waiting for clearance, however I can’t promise anything now.
If you have anything that you think is worth adding to any of our games then I would be more then happy to see it.
Please bear in mind that every free bonus has to go through the same legal procedure the actual game goes through and in many cases it is more complicated than it looks. Please be patient, we are doing everything we can to get you the best deal possible! :]
Yeah, that’s make me scratch my head as well, but nowhere nears as much as the lack of expansion packs. I can barely even imagine playing AC now without AX.

I think I have both my discs somewhere - anyone know if the GOG versions works with a cd version of the expansion?
I dunno, my disk has both AC and AX on it, so I dunno if I could install it separately.
Well, Crusader No Remorse is just as awesome as ever. And that music!
It’s too bad about Alien Crossfire. That’s the one that’s hard to get.
Ah yes, I did love the music for that game. Sigh.
By itself maybe, but a compiled version of the game was re-released recently that isn’t too expensive.
Good voices make a big difference, ala the SMAC reference earlier. Love the reading of each and every discovered technology.
One of the reasons I liked Lands of Lore, though there was less of good voicework in it, it did have Mr. Stewart.

There are two kinds of scientific progress: the methodical experimentation and categorization which gradually extend the boundaries of knowledge, and the revolutionary leap of genius which redefines and transcends those boundaries. Acknowledging our debt to the former, we yearn, nonetheless, for the latter.
