Just “discovered” GOG - one of those “why didn’t anybody think of this before?” type ideas. Also “why didn’t I clock this before”? Just brilliant.

The “modern” backlog remains static thanks to rediscovering the joy of Dungeon Keeper and it’s “horrific violence, arbitrarily administered”.
With SMAC and Crusader I imagine the backlog will continue to grow. I have Crusader on CD already, but for some reason it’s a bear to get running under DOSBox from the physical media.
I got the Crusader games working recently, but I did it by ripping them to an ISO and ‘imgmount’ on that. I don’t remember anything else being a big problem.
Oh man, between this and Pride of Nations, I think I’ll have to take a day off tomorrow. :)
I just played a bit more crusader. I forgot how much fun it is to blow up a barrel near an enemy and watch 'em run around screaming and flailing as they burn up. It’s still as awesome and satisfying as it was 16 years ago.
Ah The University of Planet. I played all the factions in AC and AX at least once, but these were the guys I kept going back to.
The hippies were/are fun to play as well.
Because they were the best non easy win culture, unlike the UN guys who were sure to get voted rulers of the world if they just made it to the end and didn’t start a nuclear war.
Man, I should play that game again.
I’ve been playing Alpha Centauri since 1999 and have never been able to win a game as Morgan Industries. That population cap really hurts them in the early game.

Bought the damn game and will play it all night now!
What difficult were you using? I never found them all that fun of a faction but I could reliably win with Morgan by cornering the energy market if I could survive past the early part of the game. I only played on the level where the AI doesn’t get any bonuses, though.

I wish GOG offered some kind of “EA Pass”. I want to get every single one of the EA games (and every future release), it would be awesome if I could just pay like $50 for the entire package.
