I never played it but always wanted to (I love the movie), I heard it’s similar to Heavy Rain except it is good. If they could release it in some flawlessly working version I would be all over it.
Ooo, a Diablo clone that I haven’t played. Must put Nox on my list to see if I can squeeze it in sometime before Diablo3 comes along.

Nox was pretty good. It came out at the same time as Revenant, though, which I remember being extremely awesome.

Ultima 4+5+6 pack is now up for $5.99.
And yes, they acknowledge that Ultima 4 is already up for free but that they wanted to keep the trilogies together.
Man I loved Ultima 6. That was one of the first games I bought during my freshman year of college once I was out from under my parents “D&D things are evil” yoke.
That’s an awful lot of RPG awesomeness for $6.

Hah! My dad read somewhere that a lady in the US was killed by her grandson with an axe… AND HE PLAYED D&D!! So, I was probably under the influence of evil for doing so ;-)

It’s not really similar to Heavy Rain. It’s mostly a conventional point and click adventure with a handful of actiony or minigamey moments. It is great, though, and it runs fine on Windows 7, once you get it installed. I played it again a few months back.

As I recall, the game had a randomization element to it as well. Clues were different, characters were replicants in some playthroughs and human in others. Does anyone remember more details. It’s been ages since I last played it.
It’s got a variable storyline with a number of different endings, based on your actions. And yeah, clues and Replicant identities are different from game to game. So, not entirely conventional. But yeah, it’s not a lot like Heavy Rain, except for the fact that both games are noir detective stories. It’s a much better game than Heavy Rain, IMHO.
The randomised variables are relatively few though. And the decision trees aren’t anywhere near as bushy as Heavy Rain’s. There’s not the same sense of weaving a narrative path through the world, come what may. It’s more shoot/don’t shoot. Still one of the greatest adventure games of all time though.
Hey, I called this! Does this make me the forum’s most respected thinker? Hope so!
I loved U6 so much as a teenager… I wonder if GOG will be getting the spinoffs- Martian Dreams and that other one.
I really hope they release Ultima 7 and, believe it or not, Ultima 8, which I really did enjoy ducks
I honestly want the next one to be Ultima 7-8-9. Curious if it will be Syndicate 1-2.
Huh, I’ve honestly never played any of the Ultima games. I do enjoy RPG’s though, but for some reason I don’t feel compelled to try these.

One of the leading guesses so far is Crusader: No Regret.

I think they’ve previously said that there’s no way they can get any of the Syndicate or System Shock games anytime soon, unless some kind of legal miracle has occurred.
Same here - though I’m on the fence.
I’m having a ball with Might & Magic 4 currently but graphically/U.I. wise these look even more archaic.
(Edit: I actually thought Ultima 4 was a lot older than M & M 4, but they’re only a couple of years apart!).
I attempted to play U7 a few years ago but the perspective turned me off (and to be fair I had issues getting it to run properly). That one I’d like to definitely try again.
Though I may pick this up and just play six, but I understand these are a trilogy?
So now that they’re going through with the whole Ultima thing… I guess it’s the appropriate time to ask this: I was too young to get to play any of the M&M/Ultima/Wizardry/Gold Box old-school RPGs. However, I’ve been hearing about the greatness of Ultima VII for years and years… will this be worth investing some time into once GOG releases it or is it too outdated?

My personal opinion is that unless you have the nostalgia factor, it’s not worth it.
If you can only play one, play Ultima IV.
If it helps, here’s an overview of the eeries I wrote a few years ago, and here’s an explanation of why you should play Ultima IV instead of Ultima VII:
