I was wondering about that as well.
New release for today is Broken Sword 4: The Angel of Death

…of the series. Ha!
(Hm, this joke kind of fell apart when wikipediad and saw the they’re making a new installment. But whatevies.)
Solid game that got a bad rep from the Adventure Gaming community because it had some Tomb Raider-y action bits in it. I enjoyed it.
I didn’t actually like Broken Sword 3 so I never picked up 4… and then always regretted it because it seemed to vanish off the face of the earth.
I think I’ll pick up 3 and 4 soon.
Added to my wishlist as a reminder. I enjoyed the first three in the series, but at $10, I’m not sure BS4 is worth picking up right now with my current backlog of games. Definitely intend on getting it sometime, though. There are not enough Adventure games out there.

Broken Sword 4 was an absolutely awful game. Don’t even bother, even if you’re a big fan of the series (which I am).

I sure as Hell do. A 19" CRT for old games is sitting on my desk next to my flat panel. Thief and such love a good CRT.
And could anyone expand on the hatred for Broken Sword 4? I have the other 3 games, and enjoyed the Hell outta them.

Can’t be worse than 3, surely? Then again, each Broken Sword game was worse than the one which came before it.
I don’t know about that. It seems to have received average to good sort of reviews, and as long as its failings don’t get in the way of the story, I think it’ll pass muster. But I’m not going to jump on it at $10 anyway.

I really liked 3, much more than 2. Only thing I hated were the stupid actions sequences

Little Big Adventure 2, or whatever, is up there now.
Also a sale on “action” Ubisoft games, with that slick new gradient discount system. 60% off max/
The games:
Beyond Good and Evil
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
All the Raymen
ArmA 1 Gold for $10. Already have the GamersGate version, but getting this one to get around the patch hassle and of course no DRM.
Coincidentally, one of my most favorite games! I even wrote an application to extract media resources from the data files. (I had a lot of time on my hands back in those days.) It was my first experience with finding a game enthralling simply because it was so charming.
I’m wonder how it holds up - that was a long time ago…
Having used a few DD services, after just 2 months using GOG it all becomes clear just how massive an improvement this is. It’s like as legitimate paying customers we’ve all become used to being kicked in the nuts just to enjoy our hobby. With GOG that pain has completely gone, all DD should be like this. My money has a new game based home(and Darklands is proving really addicitve and interesting!).

Totally agree, it’s definitely become my gold standard DD site. It is where I always go first if possible and haven’t had one negative issue with the ten plus games I have bought there. Can’t say that for any other DD service I’ve used.
I can’t say that I haven’t had any issues, but the issues that I’ve had have been very quickly addressed on the GoG forums. Overall, GoG has been a great experience, and I love their virtual shelf full of game boxes. I get to finally collect game boxes on a shelf and I don’t have to worry about throwing them away the next time I move. And it’s so much more aesthetically pleasing than the games list on Steam.
Do we know if the original devs are getting any royalties on any GOG stuff?
