So…fugitive says he saw on a forum elsewhere that GOG is raising their price point on games to $14-17, with no details offered on which games go up or whether older titles do, or what…
…and we get half a page of discussion on this detail-free unattributed thing?
I’m not saying they won’t go up, but before I express my forum’s worth of disappointment/nerd rage, I’d sort of like to see something on that confirmed from GOG, and then I’d like to see them break down those price points, talk about if their games are going to remain DRM-free at that possibly increased price point, and whether there will be tiered or grandfathered-in prices on games currently in the GOG catalogue.

You are far too sensible and moderate in your forum rage to be posting here, Triggercut ;)
He didn’t say that they were raising their price point. He said that they were adding that as a price point. It’s possible that’s for super-expensive older games (and whether or not people’d care for that was actually discussed briefly) but it’s also possible that it’s for these rumored newer games. I think people tended to assume the latter, thus the lack of nerd rage.

What qualifies as a “super expensive older game”? War In Russia? Time Zone?
Any older game that GOG decides that price at $14 or $17, presumably.
The newer games aren’t a rumor, they’ve said they want to do it. So higher prices are for new games.

Crusader: No Regret is now available for $5.99.
So should I try Remorse before Regret?
I thought remorse was better
There’s no real difference in technology so I’d play them in order to keep the storyline intact, if nothing else. Plus No Remorse has The Weasel. Who could resist The Weasel?

Sweet! I have been wanting to replay these!
OOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGG
Let me state again.

Wow. I wanted those games from when I was a kid and I stared at these amazing screenshots in Compute! magazine with a giant grasshopper on them. I had an Apple IIe and couldn’t play Starflight 2.
Everyone says they hold up to Star Control 2 (greatest game ever created). Time to find out.
Please, Star Control 2 nearly completely rips off these games. You SHOULD say that Star Control 2 holds up to THESE games. I played SC2 once. I’ve played both SF1 and SF2 4-5 times apiece. What does that tell ya?
Agree with playing them in order, but the 2nd definitely has much better production values and FMV, even if the gameplay portions are almost identical. Crusader No Regret had some issues with Doxbox and running at the proper speed (it required a different speed to play the videos than the game, while No Remorse ran perfectly) - hopefully the delay/GoGification fixed that issue.
This is awesome! I haven’t played Starflight since the 80s and I never played Starflight 2!
