New costumers arrive all the time - especially when its an online store.

FYI, beware Gorky 17! I normally check the GOG forum for a particular game before purchasing, but for whatever reason, this time I didn’t and I’ve now paid for that oversight. The forum for Gorky 17 has many posts from folks unable to get it working, and now I’m one of their number.

It has crashed so many times (once even shut down my PC, scary) that after trying every “fix” suggestion, I’ve given up on it. Only $3, but still…

Good to know! Yeah I think she tried on Win XP 32 bit last time, but now has a Win7 x64 machine. I will have her try it again because I know she really wanted to play it.

Not to dissuade people from buying the game, which I remember as fun but buggy, you can get the soundtrack from the Fat Man by itself if you want.

OMG THIS IS AWESOME! I’m so buying his Wing Commander compilation.

I would have thought that soundtrack just plays in your head in 24hrs a day anyway, Brian :)

So nostalgia bit, and I got 7th Guest.

Sigh, I forgot all about That Goddamn Maze. It’s not like it’s very hard to get through – simply connected – but it’s so sloooowww…

Anyhow, should you wish you replay this game, I suggest cheating with a walkthrough for the maze or you will want to completely disrupt the space-time continuum that Serah and Noel have worked so hard to repair so you can reach back to 1993 and throttle the “Feeling Lonely?” guy.

sharmers, two GOG games I’ve played recently not on your list are Chessmaster 9000 which on your rating system gets **** and Enclave, also ****. Chessmaster plays in a window, and while it doesn’t quite behave itself 100% of the time (it sometimes shrinks the window back when you maximise it and then select an option, and it’s not good at remembering window placement) it’s otherwise flawless. Enclave goes up to my laptop’s native resolution (1280 x 800), probably higher if it was supported, and other than the menu screens being in 4:3 (they’re pre-rendered, clearly designed that way) the rest of the game and movies are perfect. Pretty good game too.

It looks like it has a loop in to me…

What can I say I’m easily distracted by someone using maths terminology :)

Well, left hand rule works to take you to the end, anyway. I didn’t analyze the layout, just went left till I finished :) In retrospect, going right might have made more sense, though.

All 3 Age of Wonders games are 50% off this weekend.

Another one for you: Conflict: Desert Storm runs just beautifully with no tweaking or adjustments, exactly as it did back in the day. Controls smooth and precise. Currently playing at the game’s max res of 1600 x 1200. So yeah, another ****
(system: Win7 64 bit/ core i7/ GTX570/ 8 GB system ram)

So, GOG is having a buy one get one free deal for D&D games. Everyone gets Temple of Elemental Evil free, and then you get one free for everyone you buy. Good time to get digital versions of Baldur’s Gate I and II, Icewind Dale I and II, and Planescape.

Since I already have Neverwinter Nights (twice), I would end up picking between either Demonstone or Dragonshard as my third free game. Suggestions between those two?

I’d say Dragonshard.

I already own all of those. Feh!

Also, they have a new title, the Cossacks Anthology, which I’d TOTALLY jump on if I didn’t already have 'em all on Steam.

I’ve seen all of these games bundled and on sale recently for I believe $10.

Ok, looked it up. It’s the D&D Anthology: The Master Collection. It lists for $20 and it included Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 + expansions, Icewind Dale 1&2 + expansions, ToEE, and Planescape. I know that’s been on sale for $10 so if those are the games you want you will probably see the bundle on sale again at some point. Demon Shard and NWN are not in the anthology bundle.

I have seen that. But, to be honest, one of the reasons I would get them from GOG is the fantastic soundtracks to all of them, which I don’t see as being part of that Anthology. Plus, I really love GOG and would be happy to spend a little more to support their business model. Might be a silly reason to pay a bit more, but supporting them as well as all the additional bonus material is worth the extra coin.

Thanks for the heads up though.

New game up: American Conquest + the expansion. Anyone heard of it? I like games in the New World setting. I like RTS. Kind of tempted to take a random gamble.

Ah, it’s by the Cossacks people and got good reviews when it came out. I’m going to grab it.

I picked up Icewind Dale II and Planescape Torment in the DnD sale. I’ve been playing a bunch of IDII and I’m having a blast! The thing that has surprised me the most is how funny it has been. I guess I was expecting something a little more dry and am very pleasantly surprised it’s not!
