In order to make it out in time for Christmas, Sony has dropped online play from GT4. Yes, the feature they’ve been touting since announcing the game years ago as the big draw.
The plan is now to launch Gran Turismo 4 with offline play this year, while a new Gran Turismo game with online play is provisionally scheduled for 2005 at some point.
Kinda smart I guess, everyone I know of who likes these games will buy both, so that’s two games with great sales rather than one. Seems mean to me, but I could never get that excited over a car game.
Fuck can be used as almost every word in a sentence…“Fuck the fucking fuckers…”
I love that bit…[/quote]
Surely you’ve heard the ‘fuck’ bit where the faux academc goes on for a few minutes on the various uses of the word? I thought that was internet 101. I’ll dig it up if you haven’t and would care to. It’s funny the first time.
I could care less about 1,000 cars (especially since the GT method of counting cars is to have the Honda Accord 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, and 2005 and call that seven cars).
Honestly, I can’t think of more than 40-50 cars I would WANT to race. I would much rather they had 100 of the really interesting cars and spend all that extra time working on damage modeling or something.
I’m not as concerned about the online mode. To me GT is a “CarPG,” and I’m more into just progressing through all the races while buying new cars and “leveling them up” with upgrade options.
The more I read about it, the more Fortza Motorsport becomes the more interesting of the two games.
Never really understood the appeal of GT3. I played it and it got so hard to open up new cars that I gave up. No online play guarantees I won’t be buying it. I was considering getting an online adapter to play with a couple of my friends.
Recent reports on Forza Motorsport indicate a really crummy framerate. It’s 30fps and lower. :(

Remember the god awful framerate Halo had at the E3 before ship? Didn’t think so. I’ll wait for a final product before counting FPS. Also, I’d rather have a solid 30 than a dippy 60.
However, the big deal with 60fps in driving games is that immediate, smooth response. And Forza is going to poll the controller something like three times a frame, so the “feel” should be more like a 60fps game or better.
Right. That’s why I’m not going to get too excited about the game until I can play it. Plus there’s no reason to believe it’ll be a great racing game beyond how pretty the graphics look.
It’s pretty cool that they built the team specifically to make this game.

Why dont you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself.
