Grant Imahara of Mythbusters dead at 49

Making its own thread since I’m gutted personally and “the Mythbusters are back!” is kind of macabre in this context.

Oh fuck. That sucks. RIP.

Yeah this one kind of wrecked me. Just an all-around nice guy.

Damn. So talented, so likeable, gone too soon. RIP.

Man, what a tragedy. 49 years old.

Damnit. Mythbusters definitely was improved by his presence. Out of all hosts, Grant seemed to have the best engineering/building skills and knack for getting weird ideas implemented.

Farewell, Grant.

He built Geoff for Craig Fergusson’s show. Wow.

This year won’t quit huh? Grant was my favourite on the show and then I found out he’d worked on Star Wars and Battlebots and built Geoff for Craig Ferguson.

I’ll miss you, Grant.

I just saw this on FB. Grant seemed like a really cool guy. RIP. Damn, 49 is way too young!

Grant was my favorite Mythbuster. He was easily the most charismatic of all the hosts and I always assumed he would make the move from the technical side (he was a talented visual effects guy who worked on movies in the Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Matrix franchises among others) over to the talent side with more hosting and acting gigs.

My sincere condolences to his friends and family. Another bright talent gone far too soon.

Terrible news. I really hate this year on so many levels.

Jesus fucking Christ 2020, wasn’t Carl Reiner enough!

I met him a few years ago. Super-friendly guy and so much fun to talk to. This is so sad.

Grant was, aside from Adams infectious enthusiasm, my favorite. Adam actually did an episode of his show Tested dedicated to Grant, and it was a good tribute.

This did inspire me to introduce my kids to the show, they are watching the Dodge a Bullet episode now.

2020, you suck
