Graphics card question

Hey guys,

I haven’t built a machine in about 5+ years, so I am way out practice in doing upgrade shopping. I have a Dell inspiron 531 laying around that I’d like to upgrade and give to a friend. Right now it has a 8600 GT in it. What would you folks recommend picking up to replace that? The machine itself is an AMD athlon Dual Core at 2.6 ghz with 4gb of memory. Bonus points if I can just drive up to Best Buy and grab whatever it is I’m looking for.

for that vintage of a machine, get a radeon hd4670 or an eco 9600gt

Thanks for the input, rei. I was able to get my hands on the 9600 gt, and got a slightly better power supply just in case.
