Oh Jesus, this comes out today? I’m already drowning in awesome games. Make it stop (okay please don’t, this is amazing, but man I wish I could retire at 41! ;)).
Being able to retire is one of the only advantages I’ve found to being old. That and collecting Social Security.
Edit - Age 67 and retired 11 years. :)

That’s awesome! I got a late start on getting my feet under me financially so I’ll likely work until the day I die, but a man can still dream, right?!
Well…I have 7 oathkeeper builds I want to try already lol. This is going to be fun :P
I’m planning to try Oathkeeper and… uh… something else. Not sure what. So that makes the first 10 or so levels easy!
Shield synergy and physical damage synergies with Soldier.
What else are you thinking?
Fire damage synergies with the Demolitionist?
Acid and Vitality damage synergies with the Occultist?
I’m going full Warlord. Never played with a Warrior, so it will be all completely new!
Night Blade would also work for Acid.
The combo is called “Dervish”. I would go for it, but just finished leveling a Night Blade and want to do something different…
Well, the obvious sinergies are Soldier and Demolitionist, yes, but you have plenty of options. I’ve seen lots of people excited about the Templar (Arcanist + Oathkeeper). No idea why, yet, but there you go. ;)
Oooooooh, major synergies on fire damage for the Templar.
Remember the Oathkeeper pet lowers the fire resistance and physical resistance of enemies around them. And Arcanist can do huge fire damage.
Holy shit, now I really want to start with a Templar.
Necro, Demo, Shaman, Inquis, Arcanist, Occultist, nightblade all have interesting build choices. I stopped building there, I’m sure there are more lol.
I’m really hoping they add more items to protect some of the more squishy characters. It seems that Soldier or now Oathkeeper are practically mandatory for the surviving late game. I really want to try Vindicator and go full in lightening.
Lightning vindi is a monster, and really fun.
I’ve covered fire with Sorcerer, acid / poison with Witch Hunter. Kind of a bummer since the new class seems to prefer those two attacks. I haven’t tried physical. I dunno, I’m having a hard time getting excited about that. I never seem to gravitate to sword and board in games. Does physical come with any cool graphic effects?
Really leaning toward lightning for the sparkles.
Oh yeah. Soldier has this charge thing, where he rushes to the enemy and BAM, their dead bodies flop away using physics. Very satisfying. That’s just one skill. They did a good job of having skills in each class that are super-satisfying to use, don’t worry about that.
That’s how I pick my skills too. There are some strong skills that don’t have strong on-screen effects, and I just never gravitate towards those. I’d rather kick ass on the screen.

Just purchased Forgotten Gods and The Crucible. Installing now.
Happy happy joy joy.
I find Soldier unsatisfying to play… .maybe it’s me, because lots of people like 'em. Maybe I’ll do a Night Blade as my second class. I’ve not played around with poison much prior to this.
Although fire damage with a Templar DOES sounds good, thanx for the tip, @Rock8man.
Installing. Woohoo
Ima gonna go directly to the new areas with my high level characters. Then on to create a Vindicator.

I just installed and played for a little bit. Without posting spoilers, I was following a quest over the last week with a new pure necro. Now I think I’ve managed to go right into the new areas in the expansion without completing Malmoth yet. I guess I thought this was end game stuff. I’m not complaining. Any new Grim Dawn is GOOD Grim Dawn.
What I read on Steam is that you can go right into the new expansion after killing the Warden at the end of Act 1. You still need the other expansion AFAIK.
