I picked this up in the Easter sale at Matrix - absolutely the best bloody ‘Panzer General’ game out there.

I’m flattered to be counted in such august company.

Gah. I guess I should have bought it when Matrix had their 30% off Easter sale.

Good thing I waited! Order of Battle is the daily deal on Steam for 50% off! I think I’m going to go for it and probably the Sino-Japanese war expansion which is also on sale as I’ve never played that theater before.

Fine, boughted. :-)

I really liked Unity of Command and this looks as though it’s at a similar level of complexity.

I’ve only played a couple of turns of the boot camp tutorial and I’m already loving it.

Panzer Corps has a play for free weekend and is 75% off on steam(making it $4.99). mighty tempt to grab it. But then again, I just got order of battle couple days ago…

I keep being annoyed that there is no package with the grand campaign, for people like me who bought Panzer Corps / Afrika Korps / Allied Corps as they came out…

I think all the DLCs are 50% off as well…

Yeah, they are, but no package deal for the Grand Campaign… and buying them all individually (+Sea Lion), it’s about as much as the package including everything.

There is this one:

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/81735/

That + the base game is $25 total, which seems pretty tempting…

Oh, didn’t see that - it’s not listed on the main Panzer Corps page! I’m going for it :)

I didn’t wait. :( I bought it a few weeks ago at full price, mindful of the fact that matrix games rarely go on sale for any decent %age, especially a month or so after a new expansion. I’ve sunk 40 hours into so far. Do you think Steam will give me a refund? ;)

Note it has a few problems. The marines patch made the AI really slow and broke the train movement icon along with others. You’ll want the latest patch on the forums from the other day, as it fixes those things.

The game itself is pretty good. I like/dislike the supply system. It’s tantalising to think that you can surround an army and pick it off once it starves, but in practice that rarely happens and it’s better to just kill them. It’s down to the way they’ve designed the scenarios and the fact that units are considered to be in supply if a single hex connects there territory – it even goes across rivers. So you can’t simply cut the road network or anything. (Which incidentally means I’ve not found a real use for paratroopers)

Still, I might get some DLC on sale. edit: or not, it stopped at 7pm :’(

Wow I don’t think the DLC or Grand Campaign has even gone that low on sale. Every big Steam sale I would take a look at the Panzerkorps DLC and there was just so much at such a high price it never seemed worth it to me.

This is tempting though.

Edit: Actually I was wrong, looks like it hit that low back in February too…I probably had stopped looking by then.

Any of you guys tracking Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun?

I’ve been ignoring it until now thinking that this is going to be a run of the mill Shogun copycat but now that I look closer I see this is based off the Pike and Shot engine w/ Richard Bodley Scott on board I’m very interested - esp since this covers early wars between Japan, China, Manchuria, and Korea as well.

I just got Pike and Shot recently, and I absolutely love it, so this is kiiinda on my must-have list.

I’ve had it open on a Chrome tab for two months so I didn’t forget, but it is finally out!

Zones of Control: Perspectives on Wargaming

Figured a few others here would be interested.

Oddly enough I think it is the first thing I have ever actually ordered from Amazon. Usually get my books from the UK as price differential is minimal and shipping it way faster. Not this time though, Amazon was a lot cheaper.

I’ve been looking forward to it as well. Looks like it should be good.

I got a 15 year Matrix/Slitherine member discount coupon! 50% off! Any recommendations for something to pick up? I just got Order of Battle so that is out. Does anyone know if these coupons stack with regular sales? I guess I shouldn’t have activated the coupon until a sale came up but I didn’t realize at the time that it was only valid for 15 days.

Well, if it were me I’d buy Victory and Glory.
