No Multiplayer, correct?

Correct, the only MP in DSP 4.0 is hotseat.

GURPS can get very tactical too, but usually you don’t use props like the game Bruce linked but your imagination

That’s how I RPG. Why would I want to be limited by a bunch of pre-made maps?

I’ve played GURPS, and SJ is a God. I just find the system a bit clunky (hence my Hero system love). The Sourcebooks are fantastic, however. I own so gosh darn many…

OT, but I do really really love that movie

Pretty freaking fantastic movie.

And we close the triangle with this

even if those fighters are flying way too close to each other for comfort!

I can’t speak for the last one, but the series has always been a very basic wargame, that didn’t evolve at all in 20 years. I don’t think the extra last 10 years might have changed anything, from the looks of it.
If you want to play Advance Wars or Nectaris without the blue haired boys, that might be a good choice, but the system didn’t evoke anything about modern warfare (or WW2, for the few iterations that took place in that setting) to me.
By the way, the US price is a bargain: it’s priced in all its 8000 yens glory on the Japanese Steam store front (which is a bargain compared to the store price of 9800, though).

I was so excited about this until I realized it was an adaptation of his iOS game.

Event if it wasn’t…another Bulge game?

Heh… you want MOAR BULGE from Butterfield?

The iOS game was pretty great. Those tournaments were a hoot.

What ^ said.

I would have agreed with the sentiment behind that statement at one time. Then I played Enemy Action: Ardennes. That game is freaking amazing. If he released another game of that quality, it could be about Omaha Beach for all I care.

I’ve eaten too much Rhineland Schnitzel in my life. I won’t order any more. Unless I am a guest at someone’s house and they made it for dinner; to be polite. But I ain’t ordering any.

EDIT: JUST a metaphor, JUST a metaphor! If it was real food I think I would choose death by Schnitzel.

You cray. Buttahfield da man.

Yeah, you have to be in Tulsa, but sometimes you gotta go through hell to reach heaven.

16 is my limit on schnitzengruben.

As long as you don’t make a German spectacle of yourself.

I am though being Mr. Goodbar!

Spring is coming to the southern hemisphere already

So you guys. Field of Glory II. If I liked Pike and Shot but wanted more campaign fun. Should I bite while it’s on sale?
