That’s because you’re not like 100 years old.

I wish Matrix would announce release dates a bit earlier.

This is the comment I should’ve saved my reply for. Ask me what’s the most important thing in comedy…

What’s the most important thing in comedy?

68 in 2 weeks so I’m gaining on it.

Senator Blutarsky disagrees

So which one of you guys scum saved after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Probably the Man in the High Castle.

@BrianRubin Yeah you can save anytime and reload anytime. No limit in the number of manual saves. It also will autosave for you every ten mins by default (changeable to more or less often) so you dont get stuck.

New campaign system is neat, scripted campaign or procedurally generated (which is what I am using) possibly a step up from Steel Pathers. Nice.

First battle of the generated campaign. “I may have called in my napalm strikes too early.” I seem to say that a lot in this game :)

Daaaaang

This looks fun, but I already have an “icons shooting at each other” game I never play (CMANO). And I have Wargame: Red Dragon & Steel Battalion which I don’t play either. I wish my inner 16-year-old grognard would just shut the hell up sometimes.

Yeah, this game pushes exactly zero of my buttons, where it should push all of them.

Completely understandable both. I am having a ball, has that “6mm mini’s wargame” vibe I love. But I dig its pretty marmite.

Timing!

Seeking Playtesters

Fellow Qt3 Grognard threadsters, I am seeking playtesters for the Alpha Playtest of a Board Wargame Vietnam Operational Title/System. Anyone who hasn’t died, or killed me after the Alpha is welcome to participate in the Beta. Must be willing/able to use Vassal and play online live sessions (well, some things could probably be done PBEM, but live is likely 90%. Dunno. Its why its an Alpha). All timezones welcome. Approximate start in three weeks. Please PM me, leave a red flag in a pot on your balcony, and then head down to the nearest McDonalds, ask for “Any responsible and apropos Assistant Manager!” and then ask him, “Does Ralph still audition using Mamet?”

That’ll get you in.

The Cold Blue

That sounds pretty amazing.

Interesting counterpoint to Clooney’s adaptation of Catch-22. Will keep this one on my wishlist.

Playing some Rule the Waves 2. No surprise this is exactly what you would expect RtW1 with planes to be like. I’ve only been able to convert a couple of old CAs to CVLs so far with 6 TBs, but it’s pretty good if you liked RtW1.

I’m gonna grab this at some point, I’m sure, but I never really played RtW1 because I never really knew what I was supposed to do. With Steam & Iron campaigns there were pretty clear goals: you had missions, etc. With RtW the game just starts up and says, “go nuts!” Uh, thanks, but…how? It never explained itself at all as far as I could tell, and I never felt like watching 12 hours of some Polish guy’s YouTube videos to see roughly how it was supposed to be played.

How fiddly are carrier ops @SamS? Like setting strikes up etc.

Yeah it’s very barebones as a pure sandbox. You really just need to play it and realise “oh I shouldn’t have done that” and start again .
