ASL Starter Kit #4 does have 33 pages of rules, so be aware. Not bad if you’ve played the other SK modules, as most of the rules are just repeats of those. I’m amazed they were able to keep the pacific rules this short, honestly. It looks quite good, although I haven’t played any scenarios yet.
They decided to leave out the rules regarding whether a coral reef was white or pink coral. And the rules regarding fern-predominant jungles versus banyan-predominant. The did keep the “Tadpole-laden large pond” rule though, so that’s a plus.
Edit: I’m actually buying this one. I love the theater, and I am also going to try and get @Kolbex to do some PFC Kintsugi Fanfic.
Good news, ASL plays very well in the pacific imho. Particularly scenarios that avoid ASL’s vehicle rules.
Rising Sun is definitely worth grabbing as a follow up as well. Great module.

Managed to get a game of Horse and Musket in this weekend.
Perfectly well designed game that works well, just it is so lacking in theme and chrome it feels too abstract and dry for my tastes. So its unlikely I will ever play this again.
Definitely put me in the mood for some Old School Tactical though.
Is that what the kids call it these days?
