well, that’s a pretty fun way of spending three or four nights painting. I need to carefully finish priming and gluing in the pikes, but Gustavus Adolphus’ Yellow regiment from a selection of plastic things to something that looks almost half-decent.
(Yes, I know that despite the name, the uniform colour is anachronistic. Style over accuracy…)
No real idea if it’s going to be fun to play, but it’s a deeply relaxing way to spend an evening just focussing on something.
Those look marvelous, Preachy. Sublime.

@Brooski did I read that tweet correctly that you will be in town for Consimworld Expo? What are you planning on playing? You would think living here that I would make it every year, but it has been probably a decade since I last went.

I am supposed to meet up with Mark Herman to play Empire of the Sun. I’m really only in town for 48 hours.

Cool. Have a good time. John Kranz puts together a pretty good con.

Unfortunately not this year. I think next year I will try to plan my vacation time around it. It would be nice to go again, though it might result in me spending money at the game store at the convention. :) My wife probably wouldn’t be happy if I disappeared for a week to play games, and then took off for a week again in September to head to Portugal.
Hmmm… I didn’t know Rommel had gorilla sized arm… or it was HYDRA’s super serum?

Matrix/Slitherine sent me a 35% off coupon for my 10 years of ‘service.’
So, I am seeking the collective wisdom of the Grognardinati, what would you recommend I use it for?
I am most interested in the American Civil War and WWII. Currently I have AGEOD’s Civil War II and Ultimate General Civil War as well as Battle of the Bulge, Strategic Command WWII and Unity of Command.
What I don’t have is a fancy pants computer so I roll with an integrated graphics card.
Much obliged.

Hum, well it doesn’t have ongoing support, but I’ve been interested in Brother Against Brother: the Drawing of the Sword for a while, although even with a 35% off coupon I would probably still wait for a sale, but that’s me.
Snowbarossa for one please!
@orald Its sticker price is (inexplicably) 80 bucks 10 years on, but 35% off means you could get it for 52 bucks. Best bang for your buck on 35% off in the Matrix catalog.
Being 10 years old, you shouldn’t have any graphics issues.
But beware if you play on a a large Monitor and use windows 10. It’s ancient enough where that kinda stuff can lead to problems.

Edited for bad math.

Thank you for the suggestions.
Yes and yes so I would pass. War in the East intimidates me. I lean more to the beer and pretzels [but good beer and pretzels, eh] and this game is Dom and truffle crisps.
