The U.S. Government’s current guess is 755,000, give or take a few alternate spellings of the same people.

The guess is going up at a rate of 200,000 a year. That means you have, at most, a 1 in 30 million chance of being identified as a member of a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world this year! Lucky you, and you didn’t even have to actually join one!

What’s wrong with a free trip to Cuba?
Isn’t that more like a 1 in 400 chance?

I’ve heard there are people who live outside the United States. Crazy, I know!

Even if you include the whole world, it’s a 1 in 8000 chance. I don’t know where the 30 million figure comes from.
30 million is the number of terrorist ping pong balls that can fit in a 747. :/
The process involved in someone ending up on the list isn’t supposed to have many elements of randomness in it; in other words, it was kind of a joke.

You shouldn’t make jokes about probability Matt. As you know, some of us are quite fanatical about that sort of thing.
