Got to hand it to these guys, they really are patching right up to the end. Every time I start the client there’s another small patch.

It is genius that they made it possible to push out patches so easily. It allows them to be fairly aggressive in fixes. Granted, it means they could toss out a lot of broken stuff too, but at least they can then fix it/roll back in a hurry :)

GW1 was the very first game to implement streaming tech-- or at least the first I heard about. That was 6 years ago.

But yeah, it’s still pretty cool.

I’m just going to say this so as to temper my expectations that I’ll be playing Guild Wars 2 within the next few hours, but: I have a bad feeling about this.

I’m still working out what to play, what race/class combos, etc. Good lord. I agree though, they are likely watching how many people are already knocking on the door and panicking and holding off until the wee hours of the night afterall :)

Given that it is 2pm on a lovely Saturday afternoon here in Australia, and we should be playing by no later than 5pm, it is nice to have a release start at pretty much the perfect time. Thanks Arenanet!

Ya know, Qt3 SWTOR’d me in that I had no interest until the very last week before release when I started reading threads and I caved and played for a solid month and then put it down for good. I am trying not to let you guys Guild Wars 2 me, but after looking over the Crafting Guide linked previously…

I have so many other games to play…

I liked GW, but wanted a little more from it and this looks like it.

If you’re agonizing over gender, race, profession just use a random number generator, it’s very liberating.

The universe gave me a few awesome combos I don’t think I would have hit on myself.
