But what race/prof to play?!?!?!?! I didn’t mess around in any BWEs because avoiding all info really made TSW super enjoyable for me!

I wish they would give out some info indicating that hammering will eventually get you in or if it is totally borked.

Same same… logged out to create my warrior, black screen as I try to load in. Now I cannot get back into the game due to a hammered login server. The trick seems to be sticking with the character you get in on, as i had no issues for hours running about with my elementalist.

I just barely got back in, made my Asura character, then went to log out in order to swap to my Mesmer… accidentally exited the game instead of going to the character select menu. I guess that’s what I get for playing this early in the morning.

Back to hammering the login server…

“Login Server” has to be the most shit job of the machine world. No one ever notices you when you perform flawlessly but the second you screw up you have millions of people kicking and cursing at you.

I crashed to desktop after switching from an overflow server. It was a nice 6 hours of play. Now let me back in!

Well, I played a bit an hour after they opened… Then I started getting transferred to Overflow constantly - unable to join my friend. Now, I can’t login.

Seems pretty standard for an MMO launch - though I was hoping they might have found better ways around this.

But it’s no biggie - I’m not starving to get in, anyway.

I have never tried this but I have read that if you group with your friend and right click his portrait there is an option to join him. If it doesn’t work for you maybe he could try that so he’d join you in overflow.

And if you really want to join together, go to a city - the cities don’t have overflows so if you both go to, say, Divinity’s Reach, you will see each other, then when you exit to whatever zone, you should be in the same one (whether overflow or normal).

I got put into overflow a couple of times last night, but unlike when it happened in the BWEs, here I was put in and in less than 5 minutes I was offered the chance to transfer back. When that happened in the BWEs you ported to the “real” zone back where you entered it, but when it happened to me last night I was ported to the same spot I was standing in. Which was cool.

For the overflow thing, just be in a Party and you’ll be playing together.
