Is a review on the way Tom? Will Metacritic feel the love this time? ;)

I think ArenaNet are holding their breath, since Tom has the POWER to shut them down!

Oh, it’s no secret that I’m a breathless fanboi as well. Unfortunately, I’ve been out of commission for several days because of PAX, so I’ve only been logging in to queue up our guild research and maybe kill a little time from my hotel room. But I’ll be writing something up next week.

Oh, yes. I’ve had that happen too. I love the feeling that things will happen in the world whiter you are there or not. I just remember seeing a video where they said the world would change in a meaningful way if an event wasn’t completeted. I haven’t noticed this so far, but that may be because there are so many events and people.
I played a bunch of sPvP tonight and the only thing that bothered me was how much control people have in a downed state. My thief could evade people twice every time I went down, making them waste like 10 seconds just to finish me. It just seems kind of silly.

I think I need some help - I have gotten 4 characters to lvl 16-18 by now, and everytime that happens, I stall. Its when I dont really know where to go next that this happens, and I start up a new character.
Now, dont get me wrong - I LOVE the game, and I LOVE alts, but there’s (to me) a hiccup there in that if you move on to the next area, you are in a lvl 20-24 area all of a sudden where you die quickly.
So - what is one supposed to do then? Do the same events again in the starter area?
If I get stuck I PvP or I go play another races areas for the same level range I was in to change it up and get new experience/map discoveries and skill points

Hmm, ok - I actually do think I’ve heard about that. It just feels weird when the rest of the game is as “friendly” as it is, that I feel stuck there.
Thanks though!
I can’t speak for any of the other areas, but I’ve had zero trouble finding my way through level-appropriate content. As a player who started on the human side, I was fully ready for Kessex after I finished Queensdale, and the first sections of Kessex are perfect for levels 16-18, and then just beyond for 20-24. I will say this: some zones have two entrances to the adjoining zone. For instance, there’s two ways into Kessex from Queensdale. If you’re seeing level 22-23 mobs and you’re 16, go hit the other entrance up.
Also, you should be able to solo down mobs that are a couple of levels above you. If that’s not the case, you may have some troubles in your build, you may have gear problems, or you may need to assess your fight strategies.

there should be 15-25 areas, and yes, if you o in at the wrong place, so to speak, you hit some levels too high to fight, but you can usually work your way around to lower levels. I think we spent most our time in Kessex Hills at that level.

It was the human zone I last tried in, and yeah, I guess I must have gotten in through the wrong gate then? At lvl 16 trying to hit a lvl 22 is bad business, no matter what build you have though ;-)
Thanks! That should solve that issue! Now someone please solve the fact that I have to work and thus cant play?! ;-)
Yup zoom the map in and out a bit. Sometimes the level range text is difficulty to see.
If you enter Kessex from Queensdale at the Godslost swamp fortress thingy, you come out into a bunch of 16-18 content.
If you enter from the Township of Claypool, that’s for a little higher level.

According to RPS, Guild Wars 2 is now the number one game in retail in the UK which is damn brilliant news! Congratulations to the GW2 on such a massive success!

Why can’t I deposit some of my crafting materials? They seem to be the higher level ones that I get pretty rarely. It says crafting material 75 or 100 or something, but it won’t deposit like the 0 and 25 crafting material. Is there a trick to this?

You can only deposit common materials. There’s no collection slot for those rare bits.

Which is unfortunate really, but I enjoy the crafting in this game just the same. I struggle with Jute a lot for the tailor bit though… and if I ever get access tot he trading post, I am told Jute sells for more than wool.
By the way, the secret garden, the pirate’s ghost maze, these little bits of “Extra” are certainly a blast to find and do.
Starting to get annoyed by the lack of a Trading Post…still have never seen it.
It was up a little yesterday when i was on. Seemed pretty nice. I bought a few weapons for a new character that were pretty cheap (probably because it is hard to sell stuff on an auction system people can’t use 90% of the time). Down now of course though.
Well I’m thinking crafting and gathering would become a lot more interesting if I had access to said TP. Fix it!
The TP will be back up this evening. Every time they bring it up it performs better.
