But no discoveries it seems
Yup, I assume they did that so you don’t see all the stuff you may not have levelled up to use yet. Hopefully they will just have a tickbox in Discoveries along the lines of “Show only items that can make recipes I can create” or something similar. I just got into cooking, and after a short time I have more ingredients that my bags can take.
Awesome!
I had fantastic luck with drops last night, partly because of the guild’s +10% magic find bonus. Thanks Qt3!

No f*in’ way! That’s an amazing quality of life improvement for me.
YES YES YES. the collection juggle was a huge pain in the ass and a huge UI headache.
Now i don’t have to put 50 items in my backpack every time i want to craft to see if anything is used for a discovery! Best change ever.
edit: wait a second, is Razgon right in that you can craft from collections but not discover? If so, they need to fire the person who thought that was a good idea. In gw2, the vast majority of the crafting i do is discovery. Letting me use collection for normal crafting is somethign i probably wouldn’t have noticed through gameplay for weeks since i do it so rarely.
!!!
God, that is totally freaking awesome.

Razgon is right, it does not work for discovery, but does work for known recipes. A nice first step.
It is, but it means the collections system is still mediocre at best.
There is no reason ANYONE playtesting the game for an hour would not have noticed this problem.
It is kind of like when a mmorpg is released with a so-so UI that can’t be customized much. You know it will be fixed eventually, but it is still without much excuse these days. Oh wait…

Yes oddly dispite the marketting of the original game as PvP it still seems they found most people ignored it. http://www.g4tv.com/videos/51704/guild-wars-2-pvp-system-dynamic-content-preview/ about 1.30 in

Keep in mind - bag slots/bank slots are a cash store item. I’m sure they are very aware of how nice it would be to allow you the ability to discover right from the collections panel. In fact, it would be so useful that players wouldn’t need to spend cash on bank/bag slots. That said, I’m pretty amazed they went as far as they did.
EDIT: Nevermind me. The patch notes state that this is just a phase 1 fix, and that crafting from the bank on the discovery panel is coming. I’m very impressed, as I still feel this runs counter to their wanting to encourage folks to buy bank/bag slots.
Does anyone have any idea how things scale when we are boosted to level 80 for WvW? If I have mediocre armor and weapons at level 20, how does that affect me when boosted to level 80?

You’ll have mediocre level 80 armour and weapons. But don’t worry about it too much; WvW is more about how good a player you are (or if you’re just a zergling, how big your group is) rather than any small differences in gear.

I really enjoyed the level 50 dunegon, Twilight Arbor. It was decently hard, but none of the tasks were so hard that it became not fun. All the bosses had some kind of little quirk that took teamwork / a stratagy to beat. I came out of it feeling satisfied, unlike my experience with AC. I hope all the dungeons are like this!
And now that they are making changes to the actual game, rather then just server changes, I’d REALLY like patchnotes. Oh, nevermind. Haha. https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/news/Update-Notes-September-8th-2012/first#post32760
After playing for nearly 2 weeks straight, and close to 100 hours, I realized that I only know how to play the Thief. I tried playing an elemantalist in PvP and it was just completely different. Man, this game just never runs out of things to do.
Note: Discovery still requires use of the bank. This is something we would like to change but decided that getting part of the way there was better than making players wait for the entire fix.
Which seems fair enough to me.
Yeah, one of the strong points of the game seems to me to be just how different the classes are from one another, and how differently you can play each class. Two players playing the same class can take significantly different approaches.
Ok, but since we will get XP in WvW it means we will level. Will there be ways to upgrade gear as we level? I guess if we get coin in WvW there’s always the TP for gear.
Been spending more time on my engineer. still have lots of alts and not much time, so 22ish.
I also spent some time on my leatherworking to get the flashy looking armor. I hope my mesmer/ranger end up looking this impressive as well.

Players you kill drop loot (at your feet!). You’ll be earning coin and karma too.
Heh. It’s funny. I played an hour or two of WvW last night and I don’t ever remember seeing anything I could loot. Maybe I wasn’t getting any kills? We were zerging back and forth so it was tough.
Do I need to be in a group or something?
