I’m pretty sure I’ve quit the game while in combat and come back dead. Does that work differently than hitting alt-F4? Or does it work differently in PvE?

+10% xp.

Hmm, I am not sure about how it works with PvE, but in a recent post about the Alt+F4 change one of the folks from Anet stated that the new system (with associated penalties) would only apply to WvW.

Is there going to be Hall of Monuments that can be filled with statues and awards for those that only have Guild Wars 2? I had Guild Wars 1 but none of my stuff seemed to transfer so my Hall is empty… but I love the idea of your own personal place.

Maybe with Guild Wars 3…

I’m not really sure what’s going on here - you really shouldn’t be needing to do multiple starting zones or PvP (which is only sometimes a good place to level depending on matchup conditions) at all. I’ve recently taken a Charr alt to the mid-30s without any real difficulty, and don’t recall any issues with the starting zone (ended up over-leveled actually). I also have an Asura that just reached 10, and have no issues (I even have more than half the zone to go for him - probably will also end up over-leveled).

I actually prefer the lower zone populations since it results in more variety, as the event chains are not permanently stuck on good guy victory.

On soloing events:
Any event that is not marked Group should be soloable. Even some Group events are soloable (aka if the champion is melee with no wide range attacks).

On finding events:
These should be plentiful even with the lower zone populations. I’m going to guess you’re having trouble finding events rather than the events not occurring. Lots of events do not pop up on the map until you’re close. Pay attention to your surroundings and look for named NPCs. Chat them up, quite a few will point you to ongoing events. Some will even run up to you to grab your attention.

On levels:
A level or two above you isn’t a problem. Go for them.

On crafting/harvesting:
Crafting really is supplementary - going from 1-400 in a crafting skill will “only” get you 10 levels scaled. However, harvesting does give good XP (more than killing a monster!)

On personal story:
Do these - they give ~half a level of XP.

Agreed, I have 2 alts in the 30s that never experienced this issue. Try to 100% your starting zone and complete the Daily achievements; anything 3 levels above you shouldn’t present an issue either. I’ve found the story quests to be more fun in batches, so I get a few levels ahead and then complete several in a row for a significant xp boost.

Hey guys! I just started playing Guild Wars 2 a few weeks ago, and I am having a blast. I can’t believe how much fun I am having with the combat. Even though I have a low level character, I really enjoy all my options. Simple acts like dodging, setting up block/blind shields, and creating field combos has been really satisfying. Also, Tom Chick’s top 10 list has made me even more excited to play the later levels. I am playing with a few of my best friends, but I would love to roll around in a larger crew. Where are you guys playing? Is there a QT3 guild? Is anyone on the Maguuma sever? It seems like excitement for this game has died down a little, and I hope I didn’t miss out on a great game experience.

There is a Qt3 guild on Ehmry Bay.

It’s a great game, overall my favorite MMO. Personally I’m not playing a whole lot right now but that’s because I’ve already sunk hundreds of hours into the game. I’ll be right back at it when an expansion pack rolls around, I’m sure.

Yep, we’re mostly on EB, which means basically means only dungeons are available for you to do with us right now (until guesting finally makes it in, etc).

Also, get on WvW so we can farm you for some badges =p
It looks like EB and Magumma are going to be beating on each other for a long time to come (3 matches in a row, 4th coming right up, and I don’t see much change coming).

For those who own an older Logitech gaming device (such as the G500), I’d highly recommend downloading their Logitech Gaming Software (currently at version 8.40.83 dated 5-DEC-2012), as you’re likely using their old software, which wasn’t very user friendly. I uninstalled the old drivers/software, downloaded the LGS, and installed it. That’s all you need to do.

The LGS includes a ton of game profiles (including GW2!) that makes programming your Logitech gaming device a snap. It’s a huge improvement over the previous software.

Can I get an invite to the guild? Character’s name is Abasambo.

Invite sent to Abasambo.

Nice, thank you.

I’d love to play the game, but I keep balking at paying $60 for it. Anyone know of a discounted source?

GreenManGaming consistently has % off vouchers that work on Guild Wars 2. Right now you can use the code GMG25-CFGY3-4THJI and get the game for 43.50.

You can get the digital deluxe edition from the GW2 website for $44 right now.

I did the first wintersday airship dungeon, it was a 15 minute run that was very easy. You get some drops which will eventually allow you to build a minipet. Much, much better than the karka debacle.

I had a good time with it too. We had a tough time trying to do it with two ( couldn’t collect ooze fast enough), but five was fine. Had a bunch of fun throwing snowballs at each other too.

PS I’d love an invite too - Malathyst
