I’m really curious to know what it was they actually did. Was there an announced change that put an end to it? I don’t recall any such thing, but it is very likely I missed it.
The oddest “bot” thing I saw was a huge group below a bridge/ramp in Divinity’s Reach. Several naked characters would spawn at the top of the bridge/ramp, run off the edge, die and the ones below would rez them for exp. Rinse and repeat.

I wouldn’t worry too much about builds and gear (unless you’re having difficulty) until you’re level 80.
Anyway, posted in the somewhat abandoned guild event thread, so here’s here as well:
This Friday will be Karma Party Day.
Did you know those jugs, drops, drips, thimbles, and jugs of karma that you’ve been storing (you’ve been storing them and not consuming them immediately right?) are affected by +karma bonuses? And that those bonuses will no longer affect them starting sometime next week (their base amount will be increased to compensate, but not as high as you can get with bonuses)?
So this Friday at some point after 8PM EST, you will have a total of +80% karma to nomnomnom down before the change goes into effect next week:
+50% from a karma booster
+15% from guild boost
+10% from guild banner
+5% from eating a Kralkachocolate Bar
Ok, I’m working my way through Lornar’s Pass now. Do we ever stop fighting Dredge? Have to admit I’m getting really tired of those little miscreants.

The racial zones do have their sets of enemies. You’ll find new ones in other race’s areas. Have you gone to Lion’s Arch through the gate in your home city? You can find gates to every race’s home city there, a good way to inject some variety in the level-climb.
The next zone in the Shiverpeaks is called ‘Dredgehaunt Cliffs’.
It’s sort of a theme with the norn, since the dredge moved into the Shiverpeaks after the dwarves moved out. Other areas have their own common enemies: ghosts and Flame Legion for the charr, Inquest for the asura (though they don’t really have a whole many-zone arc like the norn or charr), centaurs and pirates for the humans…
Hey Guys!
I am still enjoying the Queen’s Gauntlet. It is a blast to develop new builds and strategies, perfectly time my skills, and to deftly dodge in the face of certain death. I even love the final boss fight with Liadri! I have heard many complaints about the difficulty, and I have personally died to her over 60-80 times. Even so, I love everything about the fight, and I really appreciate the minor improvements I make in between each battle. From learning the pattern of phase one to making sense of the chaos in phase two, I am fully engaged and focused for every second of the Liadri fight.
So, deep into the night, after my friends have logged off, I decided to have another go at it…

After weeks of planning, build-testing, and making small, incremental improvements, I was finally able to smash Liadri in her shadowy face!

Here I am sitting with my new best buddy, Liadri!
If anyone wants to take on the gauntlet, now is the perfect time. I was getting great FPS and no lag. Just make sure you bring a friend to resurrect you in case you die. If anyone wants tips on beating Liadri, I would be more than happy to help! The key is to get used to the timing of the shadow drops so you know when it is safe to attack and when you should be running to the next safe spot.
On to the gambits and achievements!

Congrats on downing, Liadri. While I have never fought her myself, I’ve watched that fight many a time and it’s pretty brutal.

Thank you and everyone else for all of the Ranger advice!
Thanks guys!
This sounds weird, but I feel like the Liadri battle is the best “Personal Story” in the game. The character arc of me starting a little overconfident after smushing the earlier bosses, to being completely overwhelmed by Liadri, to finally killing her with a heal and dodge to spare has been super satisfying. Especially with all the fun strategy/complaining sessions i’ve had with my friends sprinkled throughout. I imagine crafting a legendary weapon has a very similar feel. Do you guys ever feel this way when you play? Where your personal story is about you, the person playing the game? I would love to hear your favorites!

Economy will be quite nutty for a bit (its already started)
Thanks to tonight’s sojourn, I finally got back into the Crown Pavilion and managed to grind out all the Champion achievements I had remaining, so I have officially completed the Queen’s Jubilee category and gotten my Mini Watchknight. Yay!
Had a little time to log in before work and polished off my daily and finished up a map completion. Dinged 79 in the process. So tonight, exactly two weeks after picking up the game I’ll have my first 80! I honestly don’t remember a game that has just so thoroughly lodged itself into my grey matter. Most likely it was when I first picked up WoW back in 2004. But playing GW2 is just so effortless and fun (yes Tom I’m invoking the F-word). I haven’t even looked at dungeons or any of the PvP yet, but with the way the levels just slipped by I didn’t even think about it.
So once I’ve hit 80, whats the best way to go about getting gear? I guess I really need to decide on a build first so I know what stats I’m going for. There are just so many options its hard to decide. I love the greatsword so I guess I’ll start there and see what I can find. If anyone has any good Guardian advice, I’m all ears.

That’s impressive leveling speed. :)
I’m far from an expert on the end-game, but what I’ve done at hitting 80 is found a stat combo for my gear that I wanted to try out and picked up a set of rare (yellow) pieces with those stats from the trading post. You should be able to get a full set for less than 5g (a little cheaper if you can be patient with buy orders). There’s a number of ways to earn exotics (including the trading post again), but you probably want to find your build/stat combo and make sure you’re happy with it before investing.
This is pretty old, but I keep going back to Dulfy’s Endgame Gearing Guide.

Gratz! You are warmly invited to come dungeoning with what I’m discovering is the regular crew! :)
It’s fun – and run by some very patient vets who are happy to explain the encounters.
So dungeons are one way to get gear sets. Here are some others that I can think of off the bat:
– buy them off the Trading Post
– do World vs. World pvp and buy armor from the armor master
– (one of my favorite but by no means most efficient) run the temple event chains in Orr. When you have liberated a temple, you will be able to use karma to purchase unique sets from the vendors that pop up there.
– craft the gear if you have the ability and the means
– buy cultural gear from your race’s capital
Dailies and monthlies get you “laurels” which you can spend for ascended jewelry and back pieces. You can also run guild missions for guild commendations with with you can buy some ascended and exotic gear. Whatever you do in the game leads by some path to exotic and/or ascended rewards.
I’ll let the experts correct me and fill in the missing areas.
Wow. I need to force myself to play it, 'cause it sounds like I’m letting my “control apprehension” get the better of me.
At what point in the game and at what cost is one able to respec their skills? I’m always worried about choosing the “wrong” skill.

Respecs are nearly limitless. Changing skills is free and can be done anywhere except in the middle of combat. Changing traits requires visiting a trainer in a town, and it costs roughly as much as traveling by waypoint.
