What are the new professions? Plural?

Don’t know. They just revealed hang-gliding.

It sounds like Masteries are Skill Points 2.0. They work account-wide.

Specializations are secondary add-ons to your Profession. Druid and Necromancer teased.

Isn’t there already a necromancer?

New Profession. Heavy armor. The Revenant.

I may have heard him wrong. He said the Druid comes out of the Ranger Profession. I think he meant some other Specialization comes out of the Necro.

Ranger + staff == “druid”
necromancer + greatsword == ?

Specializations sound like they add a weapon class to each prof.

Least hyped crowd ever. Man, the announcement that they would not be adding to the level cap really took the wind out of the room.

These folks definitely do good presentation. Making all this tough to resist.

PvP Stronghold mode. Sounds like MOBA mode.

When everyone sat on their hands when he excited announced the Elder Dragon, you knew it was a tough crowd.

Guildhalls announced.

This actually sounds like a pretty massive xpansion.

They were still suspecting a Season 3 announcement.

Jennifer is frightening.

I’ve played a little bit of Guild Wars 2 - my character is a level 15 Warrior. It’s a game I’m on the fence about. On the plus side, it has a rather nice world to explore. On the negative side, I’m not a huge fan of the combat and Diablo-like loot chases don’t really interest me. The combat isn’t real bad or anything, I’m just kinda neutral towards it. Combat actually seems like Dragon Age Inquisition with just 1 character.

I also only play it solo, although I did get involved in some big event. It was really too chaotic to really care about what was going on.

So, what do people consider GW2’s strengths? What might a new player have overlooked that really adds to the game?

Thanks

!!!

Sounds great to me.

They clearly didn’t care about west coast watchers, so did they show any in-game footage? Release date?

A new class promises to throw WvW all out of whack!

OK, talk to me. I’ve got a level 80.

Haven’t played him very much at all. His gear is likely comical by level 80 standards.

What do I do to start getting back into this? I’m almost tempted to simply empty my inventory out completely–EVERYTHING–so I don’t even have to think about it, and start that way.

No level increase really kills my enthusiasm for this. Nothing here really got me excited, think I’m just done with it at this point.
