Bank venting.

There are banks in every major city. You can access your bank from any crafting station. I’m not quite sure why you were unable to find one.

Finally got to one. Whew. That was a…chore.

Oh, and thank you for allowing me to vent!

Now allow me to vent: When there is big update, the download speed for the update is near zero. Overloaded servers at Arenanet’s end? Nope, because all I have to do is turn on my VPN (which only routes me a few hundred miles away) and downloads are back to normal.

Is Verizon throttling me for no good reason, or is there a decent explanation for what is going on?

Well, they have to give you some value for the monthly subscription fee you’re paying. Oh, wait…

By the way, I was fretting about the daily log-ins thinking that I had to log in on consecutive days or it would reset me to the beginning. Turns out that is not that case. It would have been nice if one of you guys had told me that!

The catch, of course, is that you have to show up.

Like, ten minutes after they announced it.

Heart of Thorns will not raise the level-cap or add a new tier of gear, and thus, he had backed up his fighting talk with action. But that fighting talk made me wonder about the future, and whether Guild Wars 2 would ever cave in and conform? When I get game director Colin Johanson on the phone a couple of days after the reveal, I press him about it. And then he makes another statement worth remembering.

“Correct,” he answers. “We will never add more levels to the game, we will never add more tiers of gear to the game. The tiers and levels we have today will be the tiers and levels we have for the rest of the life of Guild Wars 2.”

The expansion will be demoed at game shows in March, and the open beta begins “shortly after” that, Johanson tells me. That could mean April, or it could mean spring, or it could mean summer. But it’s an open beta and it’s not miles away.

Also, no more Living World updates until the expansion drops.

What a dude.

Weekend coming up. Anyone up for Friday night or Saturday afternoon n00b dungeoning, guild events, or just getting together to have some fun in WvW?

The wife is out of town tonight, so I should be free once the kids are in bed. How about 10:00 pm PST?

That time works fine for me, but I’m flexible too.

I’d love to run through story mode on one of the early dungeons. I only braved the first one, but they fascinate me.

If I am home, which I can’t guarantee quite yet, then I would be.

Is story mode where the dungeons get silly hard from the regular mode?

I think I actually revived Triggercut in WvW last night! I wasn’t representing Qt3 at the time though.

Hahahaha! THANKS!

I was doing my level best to give everyone in the zerg an equal opportunity chance to revive me at some point, I think.

Story mode is the ‘normal’ one. Explorable is the harder one.

Ah, ok.

In Story mode, I think I’ve done the dungeons in the Charr and human lowbie areas and oddly enough also in the 70-80 area.
