If you’re thinking about a Microcube-like little modeling amp, try out the Vox DA-5 as well. I’ve played around with one a bit and you can get some fun sounds out of it. About a dozen amp models (from Fender Blackface clean to full metal crunch) and some fun effects (including wah-wah pedal and Leslie speaker).
Oh, how could I forget, Orange’s Tiny Terror (bring your own cab though). This thing is amazing. Plug it into a 1x12 Blues Jr. and you are all set.
I can’t say enough good things about the Roland Cube 20 as a little practice amp. It’s a great little box and is pretty cheap to boot.
