Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Hanukkah! (Though my Jewish friends always spelled it Chanukah). I am not sure why there are two?

This one really snuck up on me. Since when does Hanukkah start in November?

Jewish holidays are never on time. They’re either early or late.

We went to a potluck Saturday night. My bubba’s award-winning noodle kugel was the hit of the evening.

I think that there are more than two.

Nonsense. Chanukah is the correct way to spell the name. It is known!

+1 for kugel. Hoping we have some this week.

To paraphrase Tim Whatley, I can post this because I’m Jewish:

Chag sameach my brothers and sisters. I’ve already eaten all the fried foods, latkes, schnitzels and doughnuts. Traditional Jewish Guinness to wash it down as well.

I see “Hanukkah” mostly these days but when I was a yewt, I recall seeing as " Chanukah" mostly.

It’s spelled in Hebrew

I’m so bad at being Jewish that I forgot it started. That, and we can never find the right size candles any more.

Try living in Mexico. The only candles we can find come in a glass with a picture of Jesus on it :)

Because some things never get old…

That is pretty great.

Cool. But I can see those broad shoulders being a problem on occasion.

You need to work up to it, try just your pinky finger with some margarine to start.
