I’ve largely talked myself into buying an HD set for Christmas.

(Anyone want to suggest a make or model? I’m looking for something around 46", to duplicate the vertical resolution of my 36" SD set. Viewing distance of around 9 feet. I don’t particularly care about 1080p, since I don’t believe I’ll be able to detect the difference between it and 720p at this size/distance.)

I’ll just repeat what I say in all of these threads (if price isn’t an issue). Buy a Philips Cineos 42" - it’s the best lcd right now (and even plays DivX et al from your network or an USB-device).
Or buy Samsung or Sonys new lcds - they’re also quite lovely.

The westinghouse 42 inch 1080p LCD monitor is a great deal IMHO.
