Hm, I never have seen anything to allow me to buy 60 packs for 6000g. I’d do that totally to flesh out my missing cards/get more rare ones.

You can double click (IIRC) on the one pack tick box to get a prompt where you can enter the amount of packs you want to buy.

Ah ah… ok it isn’t the price in gold that changes… it’s the discount that one receives if buying via cash. That’s why I typically always spend 150 for an arena run vs. just 100 for a pack. With that arena run if I do well - I could potentially get more.
although 3 packs vs. 2 arena runs - I don’t do that great in arena. I bet I’d get more from the 3 packs!! hahahaha
Broadly speaking, if you get 3 wins on arena, you broke even on gold, as you tend to get ballpark 50 gold at 3 wins, plus a pack. Sometimes you get a card or dust instead though. I figure I should be able to go out 3-and-3 in area, because that’s the expected value for just flipping a coin for each match, and I assume I’m of at least average skill level.
I haven’t tested it in detail, but since I’m usually in the teens on ladder, it seems to me that I’m better off playing arena at the beginning of the month (when I assume the better players are charging up the ladder) and ladder at the end of the month (when I assume the ladder is better sorted, and that the better players who have stagnated on the ladder are turning towards the arena).

Some awesome ideas CL - I’ve noticed similar things.
Thanks !

I definitely avoid playing on the ladder at the start of the month; it is pretty ugly.
I’m torn about the pre-order. Up until now I have been successful with my meta game of not paying any money for Hearthstone. On the other hand, I’m not excited about blowing all my gold on the expansion, and it is a terrific game, so I should probably let them know that with my wallet.
[obligatory Dr. Boom complaint here]
I haven’t gotten too much use out of Mimiron’s Head, but he does have his moments. Here’s Voltron with the +5+5 buff from an Ysera card.

Ah, just the first wing, from Trump’s preview it sounded like the entire thing.

It’s the same as Naxx, one wing per week.

Hmm I like the look of that Dragon egg card.

The art I presume? The card itself looks terrible.

Agreed. I just put together my set review notes, and that card seems super bad. It’s like Nerubian Egg, but way worse.
Anti-warrior tech, I guess? Really crappy anti-warrior tech?
Not sure how I feel about the new empty-hand Hunter mechanic. Didn’t we just escape the hordes of Undertaker huners investing the ladder?
You guys are crazy :) That Dragon Egg card is awesome! It can be a turn 1 play! Think about that! Its setting you up for a ton of flexibility, anti AOE, activation for whelps… on turn 1! It’s two hit points make it super flexible in terms of activation and stat wise it gives you a potential 4-4… oh AND it makes dragons! All from a 1 cost card! Thats fabulous! It means that almost always you are going to get huge value out of that card.
Comparable cards like the Nerubian Egg or Haunted Creepers cost twice as much for crying out loud! The Dragon Egg screams value.
Ehhhhh. Only way I’m playing a 1-cost is as anti-aggro tech or if I’m aggro myself. As anti-aggro, Dragon Egg sucks unless I’m Whirlwinding or Taskmastering it or something. As aggro, it sucks because it isn’t either Gnome or Argent Whatever or Abusive Sergeant.
I mean, it might see play, sure. But it’s not anywhere near the top of my list of “cards I will be trying to fit into my list any time soon.”

Top of the card is list Emperor Whateverhisnameis. That card is pretty obscene. Even if he dies the turn you play him (And he probably will) he’s essentially giving you a mana refund of 0-10, leaning on the higher end if you’re playing control and have more cards in hand.
Dragon stuff may be fun to dick with but is way less powerful and easy to abuse than mechs (Namely, no dragonwarper (Paladin dragon is SLIGHTLY, and may be viable since that lets you drop legendary dragons faster, but I’m unsure you could build a good deck for it)). Some of the dragon cards are insane (Looking at you, hungry dragon) but the synergy itself just sounds alright.
I Want To Be A Ragnaros card is pretty awful but fun. Since all decks have ridiculous reach (If you leave a single minion on board for a single turn a druid player can burst you for 40 damage) the 8 life basically kills it. You’re sweating bullets as it is if you turn in to Jaraxxus, and that transforms you instantly. Still looking forward to playing with it and trying to make it not-awful though.
The self-hurting warrior enrage cards are pretty bad. You can have a board full of Grim Patrons if it’s Christmas day and the stars align. Axe flinger is way overcosted for the nightmarish powercreep hellscape we live in, he’s one stat less than even a shieldmasta and the occasional 2 point ping to face doesn’t help much. And “Whirlwind but worse” doesn’t do it for me.

My guess is Emperor will be changed to fire at the start of your turn instead.
I lol’d at “nightmarish powercreep hellscape,” well done. Disagree, of course, but 'twas a fine turn of phrase.
Emperor is amazing how? He’s overcosted at 5/5 for 6, has no resilience, and doesn’t affect the board when he comes out. Turn 7 is about when mana costs and efficiency start to matter way less, so unless you’re stockpiling cheap cards for a massive dump (which, hey, how’s your board?), the like-as-not single time his ability fires is pretty underwhelming for a six-cost legendary.
Or, to put it another way, you’re playing him over Sylvanas, Cabal Shadow Priest, Shieldmaiden, or Savannah Lion?
