I can’t even imagine de’ing that. The only legendary I’ve ever disenchanted was Hemet Nesingwary and I still feel guilty about it.
Embrace the RNG. I lost six in a row Wednesday and won six in a row yesterday. Play for fun and let the chips fall where they may.

By the way, here’s the deck I’m running. I was just going to play it for a little bit while I saved up to craft Twilight Guardians to make a dragon priest deck, but I may stick with this even after I do that since it’s been pretty effective. I’d take any suggestions for improving it.
Lightbomb is the best thing ever. It is just an insane get out of jail free card.
Best sequence I’ve had so far was playing Ysera on turn 9 against a priest who followed by also playing Ysera. Turn 10: Shrinkmeister on the Ysera, Cabal Shadow Priest to steal it, then Recombombulator on the Cabal Shadow Priest, turning it into Trade Prince Gallywix. So, that went well.
Power Word Shield x2
Northshire Cleric x2
Shadow Word Pain x1
Shrinkmeister x2
Shadow Word Death x2
Thoughtsteal x1
Velen’s Chosen x2
Dark Cultist x1
Shadow Madness x2
Holy Champion x2
Holy Nova x1
Lightbomb x2
Cabal Shadow Priest x2
Zombie Chow x1
Recombobulator x1
Deathlord x2
Sludge Belcher x2

Well, it is gold so I can turn it into any other legendary I want. I’m not really one who cares about the shininess of the gold cards, though it’s a cool one to have. I’ll probably hold onto it for the time being and see how I like it, and then probably one day I’ll turn it into a Ysera or something.

…and I just lost five in a row. Three face hunters and two tempo mages. Hearthstone!

Maybe this Dragon Warrior tempo deck I’m playing isn’t the best fit, but I don’t like Varian much so far. He hasn’t been effective once in about 10 games. He’s extremely slow to come out, and if you’re going to use your whole turn 10 you really need him to do more then spit out a few random minions (who don’t get to play their battlecry). He’s a decent card to have in your back pocket as insurance late in a game, but it has always been like a turn or two away from when I need him, at least in this deck. If he’s going to take up my whole turn 10, he better be able to just win me the game more often that not, but I’m not finding that he does that reliably.

That’s almost the exact deck I run on one of my priests, great all round deck. I also have a variant of this that runs soulpriest x2 and circle of healing.

what is the purpose of the recombobulator?

Can’t answer for Prolix as far as what he does with it, but in that deck it would let you steal things you shadow madness (If you shadow madness something, attack with it, then recombobulate it the recombobulated minion counts as yours and remains) and could also let you theoretically get a few punches in with something like a deathlord and recombobulate it before it could die and give your opponent a minion, and recombobulated cabal shadow priests would most likely be better than a 4/5 body since they’re 6 mana.
Plus it’s just kinda fun.

I didn’t see the Shadow Madness’ in there. I don’t own any and tend to overlook it. So many cards have Battlecry that Recombob seemed weak to me.
A minion with a strong battlecry is generally the perfect recombobulator target, because you’re overpaying for body to get the battlecry. Antique healbot is the prime example, as a random 5 mana minion will always be better than 3/3.
But I also don’t really see the use in this deck. My guess is the shadow madness and also deathlord because you avoid his deathrattle and he’s likely to survive long enough to be a target.

I meant the odds of getting someone with a battlecry is high, which ‘wastes’ stat points
Yes, for sure! I’ve won 7 in a row, followed by losing 5 in a row. This game and your wins and losses tend to be rather streaky at times. Arrgh!
Oh, gotcha, yeah. I’m sure people have mathed out expected values for recombobulator on each mana cost.

So randomly my wife was looking for jobs near us in Irvine this morning and sent me a link to a job just posted by Blizzard for an “Associate Producer, In-Game Cinematics”. I couldn’t pass that up, what an amazing coincidence! I just submitted them a resume and cover letter on their site. I’d love to at least talk to them even if I don’t get the job. I’ve always been a huge admirer of Blizzard’s in game cinematics since the first Diablo. Randomly I also met one of their web developers in our apartment complex’s hot tub. I didn’t get his contact info though so my plan is to start hanging around the hot tub more to see if I can meet him again.
Anyone here know anyone at Blizzard I could send a direct resume to? I think this might be a dream job for me. 15 minute commute! Tom, hope this is ok to post, don’t mean to hijack the thread, just excited!

You just hit all three: (1) Shadow madness + recombobulate, keep the stolen minon. (2) Cabal shadow priest + recombobulate on your priest, you get a better 6 mana drop to replace your priest (almost anything you get will be better than a 4/5). (3) Recombobulate on your deathlord when it is low health to avoid the deathrattle.
I have been playing dragon priest lately instead, and while it is less fun it is far more consistent. The taunts you get with dragon priest are invaluable. Chillmaw just wrecks hunters.
I have also been playing fatigue druid a lot, and good lord that is fun. Here’s my list:
Naturalize x2
Wrath x2
Healing Touch x2
Mulch x1
Grove Tender x2
Poison Seeds x2
Swipe x2
Keeper of the Grove x1
Starfall x2
Force of Nature x1
Malorne
Tree of Life x1
Acidic Swamp Ooze x1
Doomsayer x2
Ironbeak Owl x1
Wild Pyromancer x1
Youthful Brewmaster x1
Big Game Hunter x1
Coldlight Oracle x2
Antique Healbot x2
It’s basically just card draw, healing, and hard removal. Any board presence you might get is incidental. It has its weaknesses (combo decks), but has answers for more threats than you might think. Not easy to play; there are some turns when you just have to accept you are going to get whacked. But so satisfying when they run out of steam!
Nice! I will try that fatigue druid. I have been goofing off with a dreadsteed deck. “DreadLock” hur hur.
Veyr much a lolz deck, it is very very fun once you start using your dread steeds in cool ways, take a free 10 healing with pacts for example, boost one up with demonflame or use bane of doom on one. Dread steed is one of those cards that just make your opponent do a “wtf?” moment which is always a good time.
Not sure how to make the deck actually effective, it may not be possible, but I am enjoying it.

That druid deck seems fun. I’d try it out if I had Malorne or Tree of Life.

You don’t really need Malorne, but he does synergize well since he prevents you from accidentally milling yourself by going back into your deck when he dies. That scenario is pretty rare, though. I’d think you could substitute any big body; Ironbark Protector would probably be fine. You really do need Tree of Life though. It is so demoralizing to your opponent when they have lethal and you hit that for 20+ healing.
I really want to try that Dreadsteed idea, but I only have one and not enough dust to draft the other yet.
(p.s. Rod, my son is obsessed with Blocksworld.)
