Guess it’s time to re-install Hearthstone and remember how to play. Had gotten bored but the single-player mode stuff looks interesting.

I’ve got more than enough gold for it, and it looks interesting.

I was down to one arena run per week, but I’m playing a bit more again.

Someone made a whole album of honest Hearthstone cards. (Other part is here.)

A few chuckles on the way down, but then as someone who plays Priest (almost) exclusively, this got the genuine laugh out loud.

Others

The Sylvanus one is good.

I’ve been running a Shaman deck recently, and using ancestral spirit on Sylvanus a lot. About the time you use ancestral healing and faceless on Sylvanus, they tend to rageconcede. I beat a good Handlock with that, rather surprised. Technically you’re “supposed” to use it on the Earth eles in this deck, but that rarely seems to be happening.

It’s going to be even better with Naxx. Rebirth… (And yes, as I understand it, if you use rebirth on a ancestral-spirited minion, you’ll get two back)

(PS, carry a silence in your hand, because they also have a faceless. I guarantee it)

nm I got the wrong end of the stick

It doesn’t, I think he’s just saying silence it before your opponent gets the chance to faceless it and have 4 Rags on the board at once.

They’ve revealed the list 'o cards now too. Looks pretty good, quite a few anti-aggro cards which should help since aggro’s so dominant at the moment. Also can’t wait to get my greasy hands on Dancing Swords, they’ll work beautifully in my mill deck. I bet Spectral Knight is going to be pretty popular too. 4/6 for 5 is fine anyway, and the faerie dragon ability makes him nuts. Haven’t been playing much Hearthstone at all lately and I can’t say I’m particularly looking forward to playing Naxx itself (If they had decent AI and were playing more normal decks maybe, but from all the screenshots it sounds like it’s going to be awful AI propped up with super powerful computer only cards and abilities) but playing around with making decks using the new cards should be fun.

Today’s the day.

Purdy.

The PC client updated this morning, but the Naxx content still isn’t out. Boo.

Just wanted to clarify that this maintenance is not for the Curse of Naxxramas Adventure. We will be turning on Curse of Naxxramas for all regions at the same time some time after this maintenance is complete, but please do not expect Naxxramas to be available immediately following this maintenance.

Since EU release date is the 23rd, I’d say 5 PM Eastern at the earliest.

I figured w/ the earlier-than-normal patch, they’d be positioning themselves to go live early in the day, and be in office to resolve any issues that come up. That’s the strategy typically used by most companies in these scenarios.

Midnight CET (6 pm EST) according to a Eurogamer journalist on Twitter:

Those are fun.

I have to say, even though it’s not my most successful class, priest is by far the most entertaining deck for me to play. Wacky stuff happens in my priest games that don’t happen otherwise. I played a game last night against another priest in which he played Ragnaros, which I countered by playing Faceless Manipulator, which I had previously yoinked using Thoughtsteal. Then I Shadow Word Deathed his Ragnaros, leaving me with the only one. Then he played his Faceless Manipulator, cloning my Ragnaros. I promptly Mind Controlled it, leaving me with two Ragnaroses and him with nothing.

AND I STILL LOST. In the end, we both ran out of cards, with nothing on the board. We just sat there watching our health disappear. Mine went first.

Looks like Naxx is out now!

Remember, you have a month to grab this for free, so no rushing.

(Everyone log off so I can grab it.)

Sooner than expected (by about 3 hours)! Just played normal mode and had fun with it. It’s not difficult by any means, which is to be expected on the initial easy mode. I did lose once with my rogue deck to the spider queen, but my hunter deck destroyed her in no time.

Too bad the dungeon battles don’t count for daily quests, but I suppose that’s to be expected too. Don’t want people farming for their daily wins.

Didn’t take long before the game disconnected me and now I can’t reconnect again. Reminds me of the old beta days when their servers used to struggle.

Yeah, playing Naxx isn’t particularly great. On the bright side it’s super easy so you can scoop up the new cards really fast. The class challenges are a little trickier since you’re playing with a deck you’ve never seen before and have no idea what’s in it, but since the AI is brain dead it’s not a big deal.

Gonna have to wait a while to get Dancing Swords though.

It seems really easy even on heroic. It’s free so whatever, but kinda disappointed.

Yeah, I seemed alone in thinking the base price of $7/wing was crazy given their descriptions of the content.

And sure enough, I’m breezing through it. I beat each of the 3 bosses on my first try. I still have heroic and class challenges to go, but $7 is quite steep for that IMO.

Luckily the first one’s free, and the wings are $5 if you buy them in bulk. But even $5/wing seems a bit much, so thankfully the gold prices are pretty reasonable. I’ll just be unlocking them that way.

I was hoping I’d have to make special decks to beat each boss but standard ladder decks fine, even on heroic…
