Yea. Not well done at all.
I feel for the people who bought it on the iPad, and it failed…they’re going to have to chase Apple for refunds!

Damn game finally hooked me. I played a few non ranked games online and played against so many advanced cards than what I had, I was so jealous, I had to spend $40 on 30 packs. Got two legendaries but none for my Priest…never stuck with one class playing WOW, going to do it playing this. Now, I want to keep spending more and more to get those better cards…ugh. My 8 year old saw that I bought some cards which we are not supposed to do and now he wants to join the new card parade…damn games.

I had a great idea of a paladin deck with the new eggs that hatch. You know how useless redemption is? Well what if you pop you egg when redemption is in play? Pretty sweet deal, 2x the minions. The problem, as I found out is that for whatever reason, blizzard made it so that your secrets do not fire on your turn. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I had a second wind last night playing Hearthstone with my Pally deck and things are getting a bit better. Fun moment was deciding for the heck of it to create a basic rogue deck for a quest and winning two in a row with a deck that I never used before. Now I’m questioning whether or not I should stick with Pally or go with rogue for a bit.
redemption is far from useless… It’s been in my pally deck for months. works great with scarlet crusader, Tirion Fordring, etc… I find it is amazing for keeping early game tempo and board control.

They did that largely because of redemption, and so they’d have more leeway for future secrets (Like the mage’s new duplicate). Before they changed that rule redemption let you do some nice things like get two kills with a charge minion.
Also burned through all the normals/heroics/class challenges last night in an hour and a half since I was an idiot and waited to play it at launch. The heroics were a hair more difficult than in the first wing, and I actually purpose-built a deck for heroic Loatheb instead of just slightly tweaking an existing deck. For the most part it wasn’t much fun just like the first wing, but the hunter class challenge was actually great. The card itself is awful both for constructed and arena, but for a gimmicky alternate game mode of the class challenge it was a lot of fun. Mage challenge was no great shakes although it makes me look forward to mad scientist showing up. Secrets deck probably still won’t be viable but I’m sure as hell gonna play around with it anyway.
Also gotta say the Loatheb card will work well in my mill deck. It didn’t occur to me when I was just looking at the Nax card list, but once I unlocked him I realized it. I’ll have to figure out something to take out to fit him in since I don’t have an easy slot to swap him for like I will for the dancing swords, but I think it’ll be worth it. A turn 5 Loatheb leading my opponent to play minions instead of spells and then followed with a turn 6 vanish wouldn’t be shabby if I can follow it up with oracle bouncing. Should be a lot of fun.

Redemption is good! If you have a deck with a lot of divine shield, or you just taunt the deathrattle minions, it’s still super efficient.

Yeah, in the right circumstances, Redemption can be good.
Speaking of which, the latest episode of the Happy Hearthstone is now up, and it has me going up against the show’s reigning champion deck with my own ‘survival paladin’ deck, full of divine shield and redemption.
And if anyone cares, here’s an accompanying page on the deck itself, with card-specific breakdowns.
Yay endless loop when purchasing with gold… Tis a farce.

Agreed – these purchasing errors are totally amateur hour.
Gold purchasing failed for me earlier in the day, but worked about 90 minutes ago. Spent the time since playing and defeating all except the heroic Loatheb (will work on him later). Beat both of the other heroic bosses with a mage deck full of nothing but charge minions, direct damage, and delay spells. Got the first guy in just a couple of tries, but took me about a half dozen to kill Heigan. Basically had to wait until I got the right draw with early freeze, then Blizzard, then Flamestrike all in the right order to get to the point where he was just topdecking. Then it was just a matter of drawing enough stuff to beat him down.
If anyone’s stumbling on the heroics, let me recommend the Mind Control Tech. He’ll steal you something pretty much every time. I used Paladin to beat Loatheb, and Humility/Blessing of Wisdom were particularly good.
The Plague Quarter normal mode and class challenges were still pretty trivial (although the hunter class challenge is charming).
Plague Quarter Heroics are another story. I beat Loatheb after a couple of attempts using a Priest deck: a Sunwell neutralizes his hero power, and mulliganing for Power Word to remove the Fen Creeper takes a lot out of him. After that, it’s just a matter of playing high HP creatures who can survive his spore blasts. Attack power doesn’t really matter, since it all comes from the spores (Oasis Snapjaw, I choose you!)
Noth and Heigan are giving me a lot of trouble though. I just don’t see a path to victory with my current cards available. I definitely don’t have the mage cards, and I tried a ramp-Druid deck, but wasn’t able to get very far, but I never got an ideal draw in my handful of attempts, so maybe it’s worth another shot.
The Hunter was a lot of fun. I might play it a few more times just for the lolz. Moar like that, Blizzard!
Good call on priest. I destroyed him in my first attempt with a very simple priest deck, just a bunch of stall-and-heal.
I was fortunate enough to have the mage stuff, but it looks like others are getting good mileage from Warlock too.
I’ll have to look at what I have for Warlock. I mostly understand what to do with Heigan, his hero power isn’t a big deal, really it’s more a question of dealing with his demon train.
I’e had some promising looking games against Noth, but then he pulls out Plague (Destroy all non-skeleton minions), which is just a show-stopper.

I beat Loatheb with myEgg Zoo posted one page back, still haven’t beaten Noth!
Motherf’ing Noth.
I’m convinced he’s possible to kill with a face-punch Warrior deck, I’ve actually killed him once but he has freaking Ice Block, and killed me the next turn.
Edit: And of course, just after posting that I did manage to take him down. Took a lot of tries though.
So, I did manage to take Heigan down as well, using a similar ramp-druid deck to the one I had been playing with before, but with more emphasis on high HP minions and good deathrattle trades (Nerubian Egg, Gargoyle, etc).
I beat him after a couple of attempts, then figured I’d see if I could beat him once more just to test out the robust-ness of my deck. Probably 10 attempts later, I gave up again.
I think success in the Heroics are going to be very, very RNG based with a budget deck. Even an ideal starting draw on your side isn’t enough, you also need an ideal draw for your opponent. Do-able, but never a sure thing by any means. I’m not sure I’m going to even bother with them from here on out.

I really wish I was able to play this week’s wing. Alas, the sales issues affect me such that I can’t buy it.
Boo.
I finally got it today. The hunter challenge was lol.
(I’m not interested in heroics, so yea, short. But not like I’m paying cash for it)
