I was watching Amaz’s stream this morning, and while he usually plays constructed, he often does an arena at the end of his stream. Today he did a Paladin arena where he managed to draft not one, but TWO Tirions.
I think at least four games had players who instantly conceded when the second Tirion came out. (Usually after they’d spent four cards dealing with the first one.)
He ended up going 10-3 with the deck. His last game was lost when his second Tirion was taken away from him by a shaman with Mind Control Tech, and he was only on 5 life. Lesson learned for Amaz: MC Tech is a really dangerous card in arena, hehe.
Still, it was an entertaining run to watch.

Dreamhack final is starting soon, at http://www.viagame.com/channels/hearthstone-championship/
Another alternative is watching it in VLC, by pressing Ctrl-N there and pasting in this link: http://mtgx_esport_live-lh.akamaihd.net/i/esport5_0@196714/index_2896_av-p.m3u8?sd=10&rebase=on
Edit: first though is the second semifinal, between StrifeCro and Kolento. Should be a good one.
Goblins vs Gnomes drops on Monday, December 8.

Looking forward to it even though I don’t play a ton any more. Have a good 4.5k gold lined up for boosters when it hits.
Just looked at the card list for the first time since the initial announcement. There’s some really neat stuff in there that’s actually introducing new mechanics. Things like Bolvar Fordragon, which has status changes while it’s in your hand, or Hobgoblin, which has greater dependence on specific attributes of other cards than before.
Overall, it looks like they’re letting loose quite a bit with the designs, way more than Naxxramas did. I expect there will be a lot of very broken cards in this set for quite a while, but I’m okay with that.
Well that’s even quicker than I expected.
Go figure.

Some of those cards seem nuts-good to me ><
As a Shaman and Priest player…neat. But not looking forward to meeting Paladins.

That’s an odd date, given the reliance on iOS. Usually these sorts of things happen on Wed/Thurs.

Man, this is the worst possible time to be dropping for me in my gaming life. Three days ago I made the difficult decision of culling my backlog to the top 15, ignoring all steam sales and new games in the coming few months, and getting through those 15 games. Oh well, hearthstone it is.
Nice of them to back-port mechs onto existing cards.
Wait, they’re in arena already? Wheee.
(Also, log in before the 8th for a free arena run)

Surprised at the change to Gadgetzan Auctioneer; my sense was that Miracle Rogue was dead already anyway from the nerf to Leeroy Jenkins.

My guess it’s because of the Spare Parts.
Well that didn’t take long.
I giggled. I thought emoting “Sorry” would have made things worse though.
Spare parts count as spells I think, GA limits the ability to add cheap spells to the game as you are just adding to its power. My hunch is this will be a stop gap nerf as raising its mana cost is really just a speed bump.
Long term I suspect the ability will be fundamentally changed to giving you the extra cards at the end of your turn rather than during it or something like that.
edit. Missed this.
Yup :)
Re: Imp-plosion, I feel like there’s a bunch of new opportunities for 1 power or toughness cards in this expansion.
Definitely. I saw a few in my one GvG arena draft - hobgoblin’s an awesome card. And it turns out that Sacrificial Pact is great when you can fart out 1/1 imps.
Prolix - Miracle Shaman is still alive and well, though.
