I can answer this one, there is a bonus that varies per type of brigade, so open the division editor and either hover over one individually, or over the terrain pictures on the right.

OK thanks!
So update on the war. December 5, 1942 my pre-fort line is still holding. I’ve been slowly moving back 1 territory at a time so I can make best of use of the factories I have in the Ukraine, Belorussia, and the Baltics before losing them.
So let’s look at the air war:
Whoa, how did that happen? And how is it Germany doesn’t have Air Supremacy over France?
Whoa look at that! Free France is kicking:
My stability is only at 48%, how can I get it back above 50%?

One way to improve stability is using decisions such as improve worker conditions.
My Japan game has been interesting. I decided to bypass China and go for the oil and rubber of the East Indies. I built up my forces with the goal to strike in 41. Germany started the war in August,1939 and took out France and the lowlands pretty quickly. The Allies held their own in Africa for quite a bit, which doesn’t usually happen, and Spain joined the Axis and took Gibraltar. I stayed out of the Axis and formed the Greater Eastern Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. I did join the Tripartite pact because Russia had a lot of forces on my northern border. Just to be safe I worked towards the Russian Non-aggression pact national focus. In late 41, the Axis took the Suez canal and Russia signed the pact. It was time to put the plan in motion. I invited Siam to the Sphere and stationed several armies in that region. Free France gave up Indochina without a fight which gave us a stronger base of operations. I noticed I had a Tora Tora Tora option expiring in a week so I decided to strike. I declared war on British Malaya and the Allies joined the fray. I launched naval invasions of Singapore, Borneo and the Dutch East Indies. At the same time I had two armies march into the British Raj from Indochina. A large amount of Allied forces were on the western border of Siam but the Allies couldn’t invade because they hadn’t joined the war. My forces in the Raj had a breakthrough to Chittagong and we cut of the large enemy force on the Siamese border from supplies. As Borneo and Indochina fell, our forces in the Raj marched onward to New Delhi. We then found Germany and Vichy France had taken the Pakistan region of the Raj. In 42 things got dicey as the Russians tore up our non-aggression pact and declared war. Germany hadn’t invaded Russia yet so to honor our pact they declared war on Russia. Luckily Manchuria had a lot of infantry by this point and I had left a large amount of cavalry in the area so the Russian’s lines started to fall back. I sent another army with motorized divisions running on oil from our newly acquired wells in Borneo and began encircling Russian divisions. We pushed them back to Novosibirsk before they capitulated in 1945.
We took a lot of steel resources and factories in the settlement. Which I’m going to need because in 1946 the United States joined the allies for some reason and declared war on us. I have a token force on the pacific islands and I’ve been neglecting my navy so I might be in trouble.
One amusing thing you can barely see in the screenshot is that Norway fell to the Italians.

You probably already know this, but I wasn’t sure what year that screenshot was taken in. Make sure that you’re changing out of Civilian Economy ASAP as frees up a ton on Civilian factories and speeds up construction significantly.
The War in the Pacific has gone quite well for the Japanese Navy. We started with 6 carriers and 11 battleships and we spotted at least double that on the American side so it didn’t look good. I boosted production of long range naval bombers and submarines and built airfields on the front line islands. Wake and Midway fell quickly to my marines and my eastern forces pushed towards Australia. This lead the Admiral Nimitz AI into a deadly loop. It kept trying to build it’s task force at the Gilbert Islands which was in the range of 500 of my top of the line naval bombers and surrounded by a wolfpack of Japanese subs. Thus began a non-stop wave of port strikes that turned the island into the biggest graveyard in history. After an air raid, the AI would pull it’s damaged ships and send them home. My planes and subs would then sink the fleeing ships as they left port. The same fate also fell on the ships it kept sending to reinforce the task force. It was the Great Gilbert Islands Turkey Shoot.
At my last count I’ve lost 33 subs and a group of planes which I can easily replenish. All my carriers and battleships are untouched. The American Navy has lost 12 carriers and 20 battleships and numerous cruisers and destroyers. Also, with the delay to their naval movement I’ve been able to turn my Asia conquests into a arsenal and have an advantage in dockyards. I’ve funded a coup in the United Kingdom which has 17% stability so things might get interesting. Also, Italy is on the move again and has taken Northern Ireland.

Wow that’s cool! So how do you see what is happening with the naval stuff like you’re citing? Do you watch some of those battles play out real-time? Are you playing with historical on or off?
Does the continuous focus “Army Training” train all land units faster? Or just infantry units?
The Great war in Europe is over :)
We partitioned up the losers, and ouch! Poland and Germany start their new lives with ~20 square miles of territory LOL. One odd thing is I couldn’t find any puppet options when partitioning.

Cool! Grats on finishing!
Is it really finished as long as one province remains outside the Comintern?

Congratulations! You were mighty generous towards the allies there, comrade. Are you sure that’s not going to come back and bite you in a few years? :)
You are correct LOL. I was surprised to see them give Britain more credit than me in the war and that was as much as I could take. So I had to rectify that with WW 2.5
Some interesting observations in this war:
- I had modded British Raj and gave them 12 more infantry and fortified Calcutta. Because of this, Japan did not take all of Asia until 1944.
- Because of the mod, Britain actually held onto Egypt for once!
- Siam is still independent even though Japan has taken everything else including Hawaii. In fact, Japan has now invaded Africa as their thirst for conquest goes un-quenched.
- Spain has been an amazing ally. They’ve taken Ireland, and helped mete out the French and Italians in Europe. They’re also expanding in North Africa.
- I ran out of manpower and couldn’t build any units for a long time as I didn’t have PP to switch.
Thank you @KevinC @meeper @MikeJ @Perky_Goth @Shuma @Strollen @MisterMourning @rho21 @ShivaX @Gutsball for your patient help. I love this game now that I mostly know what’s going on. Was up until 5:30 am last night conquering stuff :)
How do I get all my Naval stuff out of the Black Sea without declaring war on Turkey?

Make friends with them.
Also, why wouldn’t you want to declare war on Turkey?

Yeah, if you hover over the little icon on the strait (zoom in), it’ll say what various relationships with the controlling country will allow. You’ll find the same thing for the straits of Gibraltar and the Suez and Panama canals.
LOL - less border to have to worry about. But maybe it would be worth it?

The mountains in the east make for a bit of a slog, but once you breach those, Turkey crumbles quickly. I don’t know that it’s ‘worth it’, but what’s your objective? A Red Earth? In that case, Turkey has to be brought to heel at some point. :)
I think I’m going to replay :)
In my last game I built up the entire Riga-Dnieper River-Odessa line to 5 forts. The only forts that got used were a couple around Riga and Odessa, and building those other forts takes a massive amount of time away from building everything else. So I think I’ll see how it goes without so many huge forts.
BTW - what’s the recon bonus actually do for infantry?
Paradox is really picking up the pace on their HOI IV DLC.
