Yeah, I don’t think it’d be expensive to license the Peter Gunn theme for a game. Probably only triple the development budget.

I do have to recommend using purpose-composed music. With an original soundtrack, you’ll get exactly what you want from the music, rather than “the closest thing that’s been produced so far by jazz.”

One, it was mentioned on the previous page already. Two, it’s almost certainly too expensive to get licensed for the game, given how famous it is.

It may be too expensive to get licensed, I don’t know one way or another, but if you get a chance check out tracks from Moss Side Story, by Barry Adamson. It’s basically a soundtrack album concept for a movie that never existed. Lots of great stuff.
