Sylar’s whole problem is rejection. His Dad probably left his Mom, baby Sylar and Sylar hfelt that as rejection. His Mom rejected him for just being a Watchmaker. Both Sareshs rejected him.

Hey, theres an idea, the show has shown that these powers run in the family… maybe big baddie '08 is sylars absent daddy? took an interest once he saw his son wasnt a watchmaking schmuck? Maybe even pulled him into the sewer and saved him?
His dad is a cockroach? Or maybe a mutant alligator or better yet, an evil ninja turtle? Oh yeah.

Or that big demon thing shown in early comics/ paintings that they never showed in the show… perchance he moves about as a roach? I dunno… there hasnt been a (real) shape shifter yet at all.
I’m going to guess it’s the Indian dream kid that the girl is talking about. He has the kind of power where he can see you seeing him.
Hmm… wonder if I have that episode recorded. Will have to go back and look for it. (Any news on them reshowing the original episodes again before next season, or is that now an exclusively “Only on Sci-Fi” thing? Not only do I not pay for Sci-Fi, but even if I did it wouldn’t be in HD like the ones from NBC.)
Quick question because I’m drawing a blank, where did Sylar’s cold power come from?
After Molly’s parents are killed, when Parkman and what’s-her-face are investigating, one of the dead parents is frozen with his brain missing (dad, I think). So either Sylar got it from some unspecified person before then, or Dad tried to use it against him and it somehow backfired.
Yeah, my bet is the frozen guy tried to use the cold power and Sylar TK’d it back at him, then cracked him open afterwards.
Actually, I went back and looked it up to make sure, and Molly’s dad was frozen in the middle of eating cereal, so the power most likely didn’t come from him unless he was really nonchalant about freezing shit, especially while there’s someone in the house trying to murder his family. Still, though, makes you wonder why he’s the only one that Sylar’s frozen before brain-stealing. Maybe it could have come from him, and Sylar just used it on him after killing him to test it out? I don’t know.

you dont recall him smashing the guy’s head in and the big discussion here about that one murder being different as it wasnt a clean slice but a nasty mashing?
Maybe he got the power from the mother, and wanted to try it out? Or maybe it was a recent acquisition, or that he has progressed beyond just the freeze and slice stage. Sylar appears to be a true sociopath, and enjoys the screaming of his victims. Freezing them would most likely prevent them from screaming.
Well, actually…
In the episode where Sylar is in HRG’s prison, we see him knocked out on the floor with a cockroach crawling next to his face, shown very deliberately, just like the one in the finale. I believe there was speculation here that Sylar had transferred his consciousness to it or something.
Anyway, maybe that’s significant.
Or maybe he is the coackroach!

They are all cockroaches. They are all having flashforwards and need to be rescued from their island before “the Other” cockroaches get them.
Nope. But in my defense since I don’t have this episode taped it means it was before the first big hiatus they took so something like 6-8 months ago.

RE: Heroes Comic no. 35
The Haitian appears to talk to HRG back when they were injecting the isotope into Parkman. That’s a major continuity screwup. In the series, HRG doesn’t discover that the Hatian could speak until much later.
Maybe he wiped HRG’s memory of the experience?
