Finally. I jump back onboard for him.

Blizzard cancelled all pro tours and events. Game is dead.
All the top streamers currently debating what game to change over to.
Turns out never listening to people or giving a shit will make a game die.

Surprising news today. Hard to imagine a Blizzard game failing, but here we are.
It’s a cool game, just too hard to get anywhere without dropping mad cash.

The problem is Blizzard refused to listen to feedback and never did the things that needed to be done. It was the best MOBA really, but they decided milking people for money was more important than balance or improvements.

So, it turns out that MFPallyTime is a scumbag.
Holly, his fiancé that gets mentioned a few times, is basically suicidal. It’s just a nightmare out there.
So, ah, what happened to my fellow players? I seem to be the only one still playing this game. One of the Scarlet Heist quests is to play 5 games with Friends. Why are you all failing me?!
I thought they shut that down months ago.
Because the whole Blizzard Hong Kong thing?
Blizz abandoned this one awhile back, firing all their casters and pro players without warning, and ending the competitive scene. The HotS subreddit has less active users than most of the Paradox games. It’s just a dead game. Came too late to market, and it turns out people like spending gold on items and feeling like they can carry a game single-handed, which is a feeling HotS very rarely if ever gave you, and the lack of that psychological reward made it un-competitive with the games it needed to compete with.
Someone will do a good post-mortem about it some day.
Blizzard stepped in it 6 months ago? That’s news to me!
I think a number of threads talk about this issue in more detail, so I am a bit surprised that you aren’t aware of what happened last week.
My point is this thread has been dead for 6 months. Blizzard stepped in it last week, not 6 months ago. So that’s not why Qt3’ers haven’t been playing HotS for the past 6 months.
As Mister said, and I agree, it’s likely because Blizzard no longer supports the game as they used to. Sure, they still release new heroes, but at a much slower pace, and events last a lot longer than previously, leading to fewer unique events per year.
Yeah, it basically died when they killed the pro scene and cut development on it. All that means as an interesting experiment it was consigned to complete stagnation.
They never really nailed down the concept completely and it was clear after that announcement they never would.

My interest was fading over the summer. I would play daily, but not follow the news of the game closely, so I noticed longer queue times and wider gaps in the quality of players on a ranked team. Which just feeds in to the lack of interest in the game.
I picked up some other games to fill in my “free time” gaming time, thinking I’ll maybe come back to this later. And then the HK thing hit, So now I have ZERO interest in playing any Blizz at all. If/when my feelings of blizz change, I doubt I’ll come back to HoTS. (I personally liked the game play more than the ultra high stress of LoL - also shorter matches)
I lost interest, and then the maps just seemed to get more complicated.

Blizzard killed it for Christmas last year.
Yeah this seems true. I liked it as a beginner to intermediate player, but for reasons hard to explain as I leveled up I couldn’t pull my weight on a team. It’s fun being carried by a stronger player too.
Unless I played banjo guy, was good with him so I had to always play him, but that got old. I likely didn’t put enough time in I guess but I just drifted away.
That looks cool. Too bad.
