Hey everyone, don't buy Samsung

Did you just contact Samsung directly?

(Haven’t had this problem as yet, but… you never know.)

Yep, I called their regular support line (the 1-800-SAMSUNG one) and explained the problem, and also said that I knew the TV was out of warrantly, but reading the AVS forums, many people were saying Samsung was doing the repair outside of warranty as a customer satisfaction thing. They had me fax in a copy of my receipt and told me that “Executive Level Support” would review the case and get back to me with a verdict if they would cover it or not. Finally after two weeks, I called the Executive Level Support line to get status, and they said they would cover it. That was last Thursday, and the TV was repaired yesterday at lunch.
